Many impressive things. of the most use here: It corrects nutrient imbalances and unlocks nutrients. When you lack something, sometimes it is present but unusable. If you add more of this missing nutrient to corrects it, it becomes toxic (and still cant be used) Usually this is caused by the presence of a different nutrient in too high of an amount.
Gypsum is calcium. The master nutrient. It can be overdosed chemically but not in its organic form. It also has many other benefits to the soil. I cant say enough good things about what it does for cannabis soil.

This link scratches the surface pretty well^
I use it heavily in all my soil mixes. Plants go insane. Seeds pop in 2 days and are vigorous...

Dude iron is a trace nutrient... it has iron for sure. If it was locked up it'd be because of some other issue..

Idk man.. I didnt see him post a pic like yours. I know iron lockout can also be caused by stress which... your pic is showing heat stress also.

ah, are you referring to where you saw me using dolomite lime? jw
also, UPDATE! pics are here for better reference.

this is the one where the tips are becoming yellow. i should know what deficiency this is, but i've since forgotten. any ideas? this plant has a lot of dolomite in the soil which is the calcium and magnesium, should be 'unlocking' the nutrients by neutralizing the pH no?
i started giving them all pH adjusted water to 7.0 last watering which was several days ago.
i understand now that underwatering them will cause severe nutrient uptake issues, and i know the plants are just starting to droop. or, would i more likely see this in severe cases of underwatering?

Yellow, can sometimes be iron deficiency. I would do a bit more research though.

I've underwatered these plants, sometimes modestly, sometimes severely and I have never seen any kind of nutrient deficiency as a result. I'm confident that is not your problem.

Possible, I overfertilized a young plant that ended up looking exactly like that, I flushed it with like 5x the volume of soil that it was in and it recovered in a week or two. Never go over the max. recommended dose on the bottle of whatever your using...

I'd go down a little on your ph, 6.5 or less... I never get deficiencies anymore. Because I stick to the directions on the bottle and my ph is naturally at 6 or 6.5 so I don't have to worry about it.

First sign is usually a change in growth rate, when food gets low they tend to slow down a bit. Other than that you can always watch out for deficiencies and toxicities. http://www.growery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/357108#357108 Hope that link helps out.
