PFV clean-outs are expensive just make your arm holes huge and don't worry about plugging them

I don't think I paid $40 for my whole SAB... Lol...I just plug the arm holes with tyvek sleeves when I'm not using it.

I could see spending that kinda cash on a nice custom SAB, I always wanted to build a table top one out of plexi glass with an angled panel for the top that opens up on hinges. Maybe even do it without seperate arm holes, like sneeze gaurd style with one long rectangle cut out for your arms to go through
I don't really have a use for it now cause I have a kick ass flowhood. I still use my SAB sometimes but only for agar work really and the one I have is suited just fine for that

There used to be one available on Amazon for around $50, but it disappeared a while back...it looked awesome all plexiglass... Sexy as hell...I should have bought it...I was worried it would get broken in shipping.

When they ask what I'm "canning" or what kind of animal is this bedding for...I just straight up say, "I grow mushrooms" and walk off...

i made a plexyglass glove box, it was pretty sweet looking, and expensive, but boxes with gloves are a PITA, in the end i built a small flow hood for less than i spent on the glove box, and havent had a single contam since, its 1000% easier to work with and was made with scrap plywood and a nice fan i had laying around, only cost me the 60$ i spent on a 12X12X6" hepa filter, i would definately recomend looking into making one and ditching the fancy expensive gloveboxes...

Yeah I've started doing that. It's like, after so many times of nosy ass people asking you shit they really shouldn't even be asking you, it's more fun to give them the shock value answer.

I literally died reading that. I've come up with predetermined answers for questions like that. "What are you canning?" Pickles. "What's the dehydrator for?" Veggies and homemade beef jerky. "What are you using that bedding for?" My snake collection. "What kind of bird do you have?" Canaries and finches. I'm ready for anything. Come at me bro

I just stare at the person asking the questions with a look of dismay and disgust. Honestly, it's the one time when I am thankful I have an awesome resting bitch face. It just screams, "Don't ask me any fucking questions."

I get this a lot when Im buying 50lb rye bags. I used to mumble some BS about baking bread haha. A few times I said I grow mushrooms, I buy it at a health food store so I didn't think it was SO weird but man yea they look at you like you're crazy. If someone told me that I would think edibles

I guess I could give the bearded serial killer face, but resting bitch face seems so much more useful.

I think bearded serial killer face is quite convincing too though. No one wants to get snatched up and taken into the woods

i have that exact tub and setup for my SAB. i flipped mine over though. i couldnt see through the lid well enough and the grid patter in the lid i kinda like. keeps things organized. i also bought those plastic hooks that stick to the walls and put two side by side. lets me put my syringes or xacto knife or other tools up there so theyre not laying on the bottom of the SAB or in a jar where things can settle on it.

RBF sounds useful until you are the inflicted recipient. My best friend probably has the worst case of it I've ever seen. I can't tell you how many times it has resulted in a server ignoring our table entirely simply because they think she's unhappy when she's not. But it has its benefits for sure.
I only see the serial killer thing working if you have a van or make comments that might result in someone reporting your activity as unusual.

aero.thefox....nice idea with the hooks! I've been thinking of adding a small shelf on mine but the hooks would take up less space. I need to add a vent to mine too. Got in a bit of a hurry last night and didn't let the lysol settle enough....AND had an alcohol soaked paper towel laying in there. First time that's ever happened to me but a flash combustion will certainly get your attention at 1 a.m.!! Melted my latex gloves....burnt the tyvek sleeves....

thx! make sure to get the ones for the bathroom. there good for wet enviroments and should stand up to the lysol and bleach sprays better.
yeah i did that about a month ago. first time back in the hobby for a while and totally didnt think. let me tell you that does not promote a happy girlfriend.
