Hello everyone, new member here. Yesterday while out walking in a field (for no particular reason), I came across the three small fellows pictured. My immediate reaction was that of "wow, those are liberty caps, aren't they?" ... and so ... are they? I'm grateful for any responses.
Habitat: abandoned field, no grazing animals, wet. Location: Scandinavia Gills: neat, very dark Stem: skinny, somewhat wavy Scent: mushroomy (yup, I'm a noob)

Huzzah! It puzzled me that there were only the three though. A hasty scouring of the immediate vicinity (there were people walking around nearby) turned up sweet fanny adams. I've been led to believe that they grow in legions ...

I guess it depends how colonized the area is, or it may could just be a little early for them! At least you have a reference what they look like now

I guess it could be a bit early - we've had a weird summer here, and the last few months have been a bewildering array of off-season weather. I might do a rain dance or something.

It's not to early, there are people picking a thousand libs in Skåne now and I probably found 800 or so today in Västergötland. You just have to find a better habitat. This season is great, the best in 10 years or more.
