Do you use only one brand of coir or do you like to switch it up? I heard the pet store brand coir(eco earth) is the best, but I'm not completely sure.

I personally dislike eco earth, I always find crap in it. One time I found some weird grains in it while casing tubs and had already cased 2. Decided to leave the others and the 2 I cased triched out and the others were fine. So I don't like it.
If I must use pet store bricks I use Exo Terra. Its a much better consistency IMO, and has far less junk in it. But most of the time I by giant ass bricks from the hydro store. Matter o fact I picked some up today.

Good to know. I'll swing by the hydro store sometime soon, it's not too far away. Any specific brands I should be on the lookout for?

Try adding a ittle something more to this thread then this shit.
If you don't like coir, good. But let's try being articulate about it and using our words instead of posting cumshots.

Awesome. Thanks for the reply. I'm getting ready to move from a couple mini monotubs to some 40qt tubs so I'm looking for a good bulk coir tek like this.

Thats all ive ever used since trying it in 2001. Pretty easy to prep and works great. If you do a substrate as casing method you its easy if you use a coir/verm based sub. I never did add gypsum to it until about a year ago. Results are the same but it works with or without gypsum.
