Oh by no means am I trying to come off impatient it's just that these two cares were from my first run(trial run) and they look discolored. I just don't want my other cakes that were noc'd up 3 weeks after these and already have pins to get contaminated if these cakes have anything wrong with them. I've noticed they're not as white and the one with the red line on it looks like it's a tanish brown on the top half. The other one has a greyish color to it also. I'm just going to put them in the small SGFC I made for now and wait and see. I was just looking for input on how their appearance looked since they've changed over the last week. Didn't mean to sound impatient.

I have a couple cakes Witt the same tan/brownish thing goin on and their fruiting just fine IMO.
I bet there fine man. Once the cake is fully consolidated it's incredibly hard for them to get contaminated. They might have a bacteria but the fruits are safe to eat
By chence did you put coffee grounds in your sub?

Oh OK, that's good to know. Thanks for the assurance.
No, no coffee grounds but I did use a tablespoon of gypsum for every 2:1:1 mix I did. The cakes in question were from my first mix(5 jars). 3 got contaminated and these 2 are what's left. I've since mixed and birthed 4 much healthier looking cakes that are pinning and fruiting great. I'll move these guys away from my others just to be safe. I have a smaller SGFC that I made to start off.
Thanks for the response. I'll post when these suckers pin up.

So keep misting them like I have been, until the cake glistens? And will do with the picture updates. Also my other cake feels lighter than the one now pinning, should I redunk it? If so what's the process, do I dunk and roll or just dunk it? Thanks for all the help you've given me, much appreciated dude.

Yeah keep misting till it glistens, let it dry out and then mist again.
If you already dunked then I wouldn't worry about the lighter cake.
Usually the dunk and roll is done after birthing.
I dunk the cakes in the same jar they colonized in with a bottle cap onop of the cake so when you screw the jar lid on it submerges the cake fully.

It was dunked but I used a fan that was broken and blowing very very lightly for 2 days(10 days ago now) while I was at work(when I first put it in the SGFC). I think that might've dried it out a bit. But I'll give it some time if you don't think there is an issue.

Yeah that was probably it. Maybe you should re dunk it.
Fans are not good for SGFC.
