Cyan pin?
    #22285997 - 09/24/15 08:39 PM (8 years, 4 months ago)

So, last year I ended up potting some mulch from one of my patches and have been keeping a close eye on it. Today I got home and found this

Does this look like a cyan pin to any of you? The pot has a bunch of mycelium in it, which brings me to my next question. The mulch has gotten pretty packed down over a year. So, would it be wise to leave it alone, or dump the alder in the pots on my lawn and let the mulch get some FAE? I want it to produce at least a couple mature Cyans this season, but don't want to disturb the mycelium too much. The common sense thing tells me that the growth isnt happening very fast because there is no oxygen to the growth. Also, there is only mulch in there, some I'm not sure if any nutrients are coming off the mulch, or if it would be more benificial for growth if I layed it out over my grass. Any suggestions?

It's probably an Agrocybe.

Well I have 2 pots, and found an agrocybe in the other one and it was a completely different color. Here's a pic from that one

So it gave me hope since this one is that darker brown cyan pin color. You're probably right Maynard, did you guys have any advice about dumping the pots and spreading the mulch?

I would just find a shaded spot and dump them out, it shouldn't be too complicated.
You should try to find yourself some cyanescens mycelium.

This mycelium was from my cyan patch. I just wasn't sure I it would disturb it too much and not grow this season. I'm moving in January so I don't want to start a project if it won't fruit until next year
