Habitat: Where does it grow? Moss, adjacent to deciduous mulch. A conifer was overhead.
Gills: See picture.
Stem: A vibrant orange/red tone fading to dark brown/black - 2 to 3 inches long. A mm in width.
Cap: 1 and a half centimeters. Hygrophanous . Smooth, convex.
Spore print color: Currently printing.
Bruising: None noted.

2nd mushroom
These guys were dried out. I don't feel like writing a bunch for an ID but I am curious to know what they are. Spore deposits appeared to be orange.

Yeah I thought that it looked like Gymnopilus as well and that is why I put it up. The first one I am waiting to get home so I can check the print but it was looking orange(ish) I think. I have to wait to get home so I can smell it as well :p I will keep you posted.

First one looks like a Galerina sp. Second is obviously Gymnopilus sp, but I'm far from an expert on species of gyms. did you observe any green spots on the gyms? kinda like this...
-------------------- Having lived through an existence close to nature, one accepts the small and simple things as most important in life. Sun, wind, rain and snow. The sounds birds make, smells of fresh wild flowers. Love of all kinds, from friends and family, thy self and our neighbors. Beautiful sunrises to the darkest clouds dancing above in the sky. To forgive, learn, share and express. This is the only thing a man such as myself can ask for. What comes as the result is nothing short of the core of human existence, to truly live free in body and mind.

No....I was looking for green/blue bruising but didn't see any. I think I will probably stop by there tomorrow and grab a couple specimens. I am hoping some fresh ones pop up soon.

So in regards to the first one....it has dried out a bit but I swear it almost smells like a chemical you might clean with, with perhaps a touch of sweetness. The spore print is unfortunately not very clear. But it is clear enough to say that it is either orange/rust. I just thought it was a cool looking mushroom. I knew it wouldn't be active but it did have that kind of look to it.
The second one I would agree with you NeoSporen. Thanks for that. It would be nice to find an active Gym this year....im getting close.
