50% of the labor force in food production in the US are undocumented immigrants. Can you imagine what would happen if you suddenly lost half your labor force? Disaster. You don't have to imagine what would happen, because it has happened before. Alabama cracked down on illegals in 2011. It caused such a disruption in the states agricultural output, that the state reversed its anti-immigrant policy in an emergency session.

Yeah, we better bring in another 30 million so we don't enter an economic depression and starve to death, total nonsense.

If that's what it takes, yeah. What's ridiculous is that you would be opposed to doing that even if it meant you starved to death.

Hey bro have you personally been affected economically by illegal immigration? And if so how? I'd love to hear it.
Yes he has. Reasonable food prices.

If she isn't appropriately dressed and is seen by a man from her home country, she could be severely punished when she returns to SA (probably whipped).
Even though she was in the US at the time, she could still be punished.
We all just need to be more tolerant, though. Islam is not the issue, it is everybody else.
Afterall, the witness of one man is equal to the witness of two women. Everybody knows women can't be trusted.
Christians would marry 12 year old's and use to burn women at the stake for being out after dark because they thought they were witches. And guess what the government didn't give two shits! But guess what else? Christians don't do that anymore; changes were made.
Was the religion itself to blame? No. The people were to blame.
There are scientists that help develop better alternative power technology and then their are those that build better guns and bombs. Is science to blame?
It's always easier to blame a group then it is to try and isolate and solve the problem.
Why do you keep bringing up what Christianity did in the past? Yes, Christians have done tons of awful things. So has every other group in history.
Just because lots of groups have done awful things does not make it okay. It wasn't okay then and it isn't okay now.
Not really sure what point you are trying to make...

"You can't disagree with Muslims, because other groups of people have also done bad things."
Yeeahh....makes sense...
edit: Maybe you mention Christianity because you think I am only against Islam? I'm not sure why you keep bringing up Christianity, but I insult all irrational belief systems pretty equally, this thread just happens to be about Islam.

Illegal immigration affects all US citizens, adding more workers than is needed lowers wages for everyone, including the skilled and educated. It also takes jobs away from the uneducated poor and disadvantaged, mainly Hispanics and blacks.
If we had an economic environment that require more labor than the US currently had, then by all means have immigrants legally enter the US and become productive citizens!! But that isn't the case today, we have over 50 million working eligible US citizens not working, we don't need more poor people.

Sufism is the silver lining in the cloud of Islam.
It is a beautiful and profound spiritual system of great authenticity.
The mystic poetry of Rumi is one of the crowning achievements of human art in all history.
In all religions there is much that should be embraced and much that should be abandoned.
There is salvation to be found in all religions but the key is in what parts of if you embrace and how you practice it .
I want to be a Muslim , from some perspectives I am a Muslim , but I am also a Buddhist, Hindu , Taoist and Christian while also being none of these and much more.
I study and practice all religions but combine the best parts of each into my own unique belief system and spiritual path and anything in any system that doesn't resonate with compassionate wisdom I simply leave by the wayside.
Compassionate wisdom and love. This is the heart of true religion.

Does this make you feel better?
Yes. But it still proves my point even more

We would be missing the point. If we were all somewhat equally violent, the Near East wouldn't be a giant terrible place tnat only a fool would choose to go to.

I've heard good things about Sufism. I don't know anything about it really, besides that it is supposed to be a more interesting sounding variety of islam. I feel like I remember reading about some people who were both Hindu and Sufi, maybe? Sounds interesting.
I agree that there is some truth in all of the religions.
The only reason I give the muslims a hard time is because I think some of them may need to be warmed up a little bit to get them ready for the modern world we are all living in. We are all going to have our feelings hurt from time to time. You can't start a religious crusade every time somebody makes a cartoon about your god.

the mods should never have given SirShrooms points, he didn't do anything. 90% of the time people make fun of ALL religions; are we supposed to draw the line at Christianity? why?
basically my point.
