This should not be posted in the advanced forum...I say take your tit apart, your cakes should be at about 75F for fruiting. I don't know why you want your heater to make humidity. they don't do that. To keep your shit wet, put it in a fruiting chamber on top of moist perlite. If you don't know how to do that you need to look at the FAQ.
A TIT (tub in tub) is only for incubation the fruiting of what you have done in the incubator is accomplished in a fruiting chamber. The most common design is a clear plastic chamber with a wet perlite layer at the bottom. This system must be fanned out at least once a day for gas exchange. For more ideas, READ!!!!!!

Hydroton is sorta like perlite, but more efficent. Its very big (clay?) particles. I think its found in hydroponic stores. I suggest you take micro's advice and case it with something... probably 50/50. What is the substrate in the microbags?

The trick to growing mushrooms is to get every environmental factor right, something like no heat/humidity would SERIOUSLY screw up the growth.

i used to use a similar set up, and my perilite worked fine for me make sure they are really soaked, i never worried about getting them overly wet, and the relative humidity was a constant 95-98%. i also didnt use any heat source, my room temperature kept my setup at a perfect 74-76 throughout the day and night.

"A human being is part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest--a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."
