Fruiting straight grains

Hello there!
I've just put 3 quart jars of grains in covered little Tupperwares to colonize before I case and fruit them, however this thought has just occurred to me,if there is no extra substrate to colonize and the grains are already colonized, even though they don't have a white appearance to them because they were just shaken, can I still case them right now because they are already colonized? I appreciate any and all advice.

Yup. But you might want to wait a day or two to see recovery before doing so, otherwise you might get an unpleasant surprise later.
Also, I'd try bottomwatering them. It worked when I tried a tray of CSG.

I spawned some popcorn casings and had double-overlay cause I didn't put enough hydrogen peroxide in my automated aquarium mister. I only got one mushroom so I cut off the head part where the seeds fall from and put it in a jar of LC and sprayed it all over a tin of PF cakes I made with gravel, cardboard, and bisquick in my microwave. I think it will be good cause B+ is so potent. Triggered yet? Only a square would say "a cube is a cube."
No, this does not look right...

Yea man you can case straight grain and fruit it. The tray above is 3qts spawn cased with peat/verm. Definitely better to mix with a bulk sub like coir but it will work

Hi! If they were fully colonized you shouldn't have shaken them again. Most folks shake once when the grain is approximately 30% colonized. Once your jars are fully colonized you move to casing. There is quite a bit of Tek regarding this on here if you search it, but maybe someone more experienced with the process might be able to add more.

Well he would have had to break up the grains anyways to put into the trays. Then case

Right, but I thought shaking the grains broke the mycelium up more than what was considered to be ideal and that it should be broken up by hand for casing?

Meh, I dunno I wouldn't think it'd be much of a difference. They recover pretty quick

I'm not sure shaking the grains is ideal even for spawning. A smooth tipped 2 prong fork will work much better than trying to get them out by hand.

Scooping out large chunks then mushing them together would probably be slightly more ideal. Still, I doubt it matters much.
