DWP says it can't track millions in ratepayer money
DWP ratepayer funds flow to two groups run by agency managers and union leaders, with little accountability. http://articles.latimes.com/2013/sep/19/local/la-me-dwp-nonprofits-20130918

You can paste every link from your "dwp bad wrong" google search but that doesnt change the fact that your original claim is unsubstantiated.

For the most part, it’s a relatively small number of larger corporate players that receive most federal dollars. Two-thirds of all grants and allocated tax credits over the time period reviewed were awarded to 582 firms. Twenty-one of the companies netted more than $500 million in federal grants and subsidies.
The same is true of state and local grants and tax expenditures, although the report noted that larger companies dominate federal subsidies to a somewhat lesser extent at the federal level.

if you hate subsidies so much, i guess we should shit-can all the private energy companies who get them too...and yet still can't offer the prices that LADWP can

Yeah what were the prices again? So where are your links that private electric companies get subsidies as large as LADWP has?

Well you haven't done much research, because according to your research:
"Twenty-one of the companies netted more than $500 million in federal grants and subsidies."-ballsalsa
so 21 companies get to split $500 million, but LA DWP gets $200 million, seems fair doesn't it? I have to pay for some scumsuckers in CA, and I don't even live in CA.
The LADWP seeks $200 million in stimulus funds for a smart grid project, according to city documents. While details have yet to emerge, the city has said it likes public cellular networks for smart grid. http://www.greentechmedia.com/articles/read/las-utility-seeks-200m-smart-grid-stimulus-grant

where do you live? one of the numerous non-contributing deadweight states? If you don't say New York, California, Texas, or Florida, your opinions about whether you should have to pay for scumsuckers in california are invalid, because its the scumsuckers in those four states that pay for everything in your backwards state. Yeah, thats right, almost every state in this country sucks on the Federal tit more than they contribute. California scumsuckers are one of the few that receives fewer federal dollars than it contributes, so why don't you go ahead and stick THAT up your ass?
