ID Request from Idaho: Psilocybe or Conocybe or Coprinus Atramentarius?
    #22279657 - 09/23/15 04:47 PM (8 years, 4 months ago)

Found growing on lawn in Idaho at aproximately 2400ft elevation.
It has been pretty sunny and hot but recently rained and dropped in temperature about a week ago.

Habitat:
These were found in an old homestead growing on a well manecured lawn. Large groups.

Gills:
Gills were hard to inspect. Noticed inky almost tar like residual on hand and spore print.

Stem:
Thick stem, difficult to remove from cap. About 3 cm tall

Cap:
Conical caps, closely bunched together. Thick caps very inky, about 2cm across.

Spore print color:
Spore print was hard to tell, but looked black to purple black. Very oily black residue.

Bruising:
None noticed.

They are a coprinoid, not Psilocybe or Conocybe.

They don't appear to be of the edible variety, such as Coprinus Comatus, agreed?
