this shit all tastes like fucking garbage. Peaches hard as a rock, no flavor, ecto.
Basically all the dam fruit tastes like shit, and the god dam prices are higher now than ever and its barely even edible.
The only shit worth eating is banana's, and it seems like every other batch of those I get turn some nasty ass color pale yellow, instead of getting those brown spots, and when it does that it tastes like crap too.
Green beans almost always look horrible
I mean for fuck sake even onions and potato's are starting to look bad
I really don't know what to eat anymore
does anyone feel like if they get too sick of the garbage they might just become a cannibal or something?
why isn't it legal to auction off your body parts at death? or is it? like even organ donors, can't you just sell your shit to someone instead of the corrupt hospital industry getting them? so like then make human meal delicacy's for the rich out of the deceased and the money profits their familys to pay for medical bills ect.
I mean china eats all kinds of crazy shit, isn't it about time for America to go a little crazy? we can't let china win right, we gotta one up them and take the crazy a little further and im hungry anyway so

I came to the same conclusions when a few bites of a sour apple gave me stomach cramps during an intense acid peak last night. I just want to pick the shit right from the damn tree. No trees anywhere to be found at the time of course :'(

My grocery store has been selling these things called plumcots and they're amazing. Its kind of like a giant plum that is sweet on top and it gets more sour as you get to the bottom. They're $4 a pound. Produce is so expensive too, I can understand that because of over-population.
I agree that it is hard to get good produce. I like to eat most of my fruit before most people consider it ripe too so that makes it even harder sometimes
This is the usual produce I get every week:
6 heads of Romaine lettuce (3 for my tortoise) Berries 4 Bananas Lemons for lemonade Plumcots 2 Plums or Peaches Or Kiwi's Or whatever is ripe 2 Onions Bell Pepper Red Potatoes 1 Avacado Sometimes Corn on the Cob, Mushrooms, Carrots, Broccoli, Cucumber, or Zucchini depending on what I'm making.

You should try the produce in Japan. OMGfballzWTFrofflzeholyshitfuckz
But yeah.. most of the produce found in most grocery stores in the US sucks major balls.
You usually gotta go to the farmer's markets and shit to find the good stuff. Or grow it yourself.

Get organic produce for improved taste and nutrition content Let your peaches sit out a few days so it can ripen The stores get the peaches in before they're ripe so they have time to sell them before that spoil Set in on the counter until it's a little bit soft, but not too soft
Don't give up on produce, just improve you selections Pay a little more for good food now, pay less to the doctor in the future

im pretty sure our farmers market is just a hoax, pretty sure like 95% of them just go to the market to buy shit, take it to the farmers market to upsell it for profit. Everytime ive bought stuff I always notice them smurking, its not a smile, its like this evil smurk like they just did something bad and only they know what it is
I was going fairly regularly to get grass fed meat, first couple times the meat was great, then it started tasting like dog shit, then I wanted to try something different and got a lamb roast. I get it home and its a fucking lamb knee or some shit and all the dam meat has little tiny pieces of bone in it in every bit like the fukin lamb had really bad knee's that caused splinters everywhere in the meat around them. Shit was like $30-$40 too
it just drives me insane all the horrible food out there and you have no dam idea where its been

When my wife gets food from the farmers market it is always too ripe and goes bad within a day. I went one time and all the "farmers" seemed a little sketchy. Like they were pulling fruit out of the Publix dumpster and reselling it.

Damn you guys have sucky farmer's markets. Our local ones are fucking amazing. Always have the freshest, dankest fruits. Massive difference in taste and quality from store produce. It's often cheaper too. Strawberries are always sweet and red and juicy. Plums are sweet and juicy as shit. The fruit is amazeballs.

I always squeeze plums, peaches, apricots...to see if they are ripe...this cuts down alot of the disappointment. Also, a pineapple is ripe when one of the center prawns pulls out easily. And, smell a honeydew or cantaloupe where the stem meets the fruit...it should smell sweet and fruity if it is ripe.
You can overcome alot of the produce disappointment by taking your time when selecting them.

where do I find the shrimp on a pineapple? Your saying to pull out one of the green leafs ontop near the center? or on the side, one of those pokey things?

I dunno im confused either way, it seems like the green leafs would take forever before they would pull out easy, and the pokey things on the side seems like those turn brown and dry out, while the pineapple goes from green to orangeish

I need to find me a good local one here in Austin. Been meaning to, but I'm hesitant after reading reviews of some of em.
Seems like they either don't have much fresh produce, and instead just a bunch of canned crap and prepped foods.
Or, the produce they do have is not worth the extra cost. I might as well spend my money on sub par food in an air conditioned market.

I've found one of the best ways to tell if a pineapple is ripe is by smelling the bottom of it, if it smells like pineapple juice.. that shit is golden. Also visually. Ideally the whole body of the pineapple should be golden yellow. If you see green, especially near the top.. don't get it. Pineapples don't ripen or get sweeter really after they are picked. I can pretty well guarantee the pineapples in that pic you posted wouldn't be very sweet, they have a ton of green in them.

Pineapple juice in Hawaii is like 10000000 times better than on the mainland
They had that stuff as a fountain drink with unlimited refills and I was in heaven
