What type of morning glory is this?
    #22277204 - 09/23/15 12:52 AM (8 years, 4 months ago)

Been looking for a source of lsa for some time now, I've known about this particular plant for over a year, and have never seen it make seeds. It flowers pretty much all year round though. Just wondering what type of MG this is, and if it's worth continuing looking for it to seed.

All the flowers have pretty much the exact same colour.

The leaves kinda vary.

This plant is growing through long grass, in an area where people sometimes dump their rubbish, my guess would be it came from someone's garden.

Thanks for any input.

I'd say ipomoea indica by the fact that it does not set seeds and for the varying leaves.

if you have never picked these seeds before ( in case its not indica) lift the vines up look for the dead/dying stems if its a seeder thats where you'll find them, small pods everywhere a flower has died, but it looks very much like the common wild ones where i live and they never seed... buy a packet of heavenly blue seeds and sprinkle them anywhere you would like them to grow and you will have a couple doses in a few months and  a lifetime supply in a year

Seeds show long after flower does. Which reminds me to check local vine.

Cool thanks.
So ipomea indica does not seed? I've looked all along the vines, at multiple times of the year and not found a single seed. I've looked around the place for heavenly blue seeds, but I've never found any type of morning glory seeds in shops at all.

Is it possible to do an lsa extraction (providing ipomia indica produces lsa) from the foliage, or the roots of the plant?

I used to grow these in North Florida, they grew wild all over, and they never produce seed.
You have to propagate them by getting cuttings, that have rooted along the sand.
