A friend sent me this pic today and I was curious to know if these mushrooms are Liberty caps? I believe there could be a mix here

If you're looking for something edible or psychoactive, yes.

In your drying pictures I see some that could be a Panaeolus, but I don't think there's anything in there to get excited about if you're looking for actives.

I've never found any this early in my area, but that's not to say they don't come out this early, down here. The weather's been a bit up an down recently, it just hasn't been as cold as when I've found them before. From what I've gathered, the consensus is that they prefer higher ground and colder weather, so my guess is that they only grow in the warmer parts of the year, in those places with higher altitude.

England (United Kingdom, UK) Conocybe kuehneriana Gymnopilus junonius Gymnopilus purpuratus Inocybe corydalina var. corydalina (Many deadly look-alikes, Inocybes are not recommended for hunting) Inocybe haemacta Panaeolus cinctulus Panaeolus fimicola Panaeolus olivaceus Pluteus salicinus Psilocybe cyanescens Psilocybe fimetaria Psilocybe semilanceata Psilocybe strictipes
Below are the most common, but please post photos of cyans so we can I.D them, you don't wanna eat a Galerina sp. by mistake.
Psilocybe semilanceata Psilocybe cyanescens (watch out for galerina with these) Panaeolus cinctulus Panaeolus olivaceus
-------------------- I give you the choice of 2 pills.
With each containing one of the following: Cyanide... Psilocin... Would you take the risk? Didn't think so. This is why Positive Identification prior to consumption is important.
