I keep hearing Google and yahoo search engines store everything you search for indefinitely. We all know the US Gov spies on us. Im not trying to be "bad", but I like things that are illegal. So, is there a good search engine that does not store and share all the crazy shit I search for?

DuckDuckGo for sure. Check out their privacy policy. It's actually interesting and informative. https://duckduckgo.com/privacy
Also, check out their advanced settings and cloud cookie system.

Your browsing history should be considered secure, and although there are ways around this (Flash, visited selectors for links, cache timing, cross-domain JS requests, etc) it would be pretty shady for Google to exploit this. I would be surprised if they did.
More likely it is an IFRAME or something originating from google.com that will grab your session information and they already have your search history and all that. Cookies should only be able to be viewed by websites from the same domiain (google same origin policy).

A 3rd party proxy never goes astray either, especially if you like downloading stuff.

Thanks for the replies, I didn't know most of this. Sorry I could not get back to my thread sooner, I haven't had an internet connection in over 1 week.

I find duckduckgo is great for Linux questions, but if I have Microsoft question it is a complete flop. Useless for malware and networking research also. It doesn't seem to gather code box results in bbcode.

These new computers, I can't believe they don't come with a detailed manual. I use Duckduckgo for things I don't want NSA or the Gov to find out Im searching for. I hope its good for that.

Unless you are using a 3rd party proxy, probably not.

A proxy server is a service that you pay to route all your traffic through. 3rd party being that neither you nor your ISP provide it for your connection. Also known as a VPN.
Basically, your ISP only sees the address of that proxy server for all of your internet access and that server keeps no records of what pages you request or connect to. It's an easy way of anonymizing your internet traffic.
I use PIA, but there are plenty of others. You just have to research and make sure that your proxy keeps no records though... there have been cases of proxy companies logging everything and handing it over to the government.
