which is better while fruiting, little light, or 12/12?

I've been reading up on the light's role in inducing pinning and telling the pins where to grow (supposedly, up). I
also have read that they (mushrooms) would just need as little as 1 minute of light every one hour to know where to grow, otherwise, they would grow whichever way they like, the explanation said that they actually grow in the dark, so what are your inputs?

Mushrooms (like us) have a circadian rhythm... 12 hours on, followed by 12 hours off of light in the 6500 Kelvin spectrum has been proven most beneficial... Full colonization, and FAE are the primary triggers of pinning... light is a secondary pinning trigger after those..

If your guide/book/whatever is telling they prefer darkness, you're reading outdated information. I'd abandon that tutorial and double check everything else you're using from it.

no i was actually just discussing that with a friend and he said that life is only beneficial for pins orientation, but they would fruit either ways, so i wanted to make sure, but thanks anyway!

They grow upwards opposite of gravity regardless of light.

so its as simple as growing any plant from a seed, gravity pulls the soil down, and the sun pulls the stem up, good to know! thanks guys!
oh could you help me with this thread too?

Easier than growing from a seed IMO. Mushrooms are smart they've survived and evolved for millions of years. Mushrooms in pitch dark will still grow upwards.
About your other thread, turn off the fan. No fans with a SGFC - whether it's built right or not. And chill on the fanning, it's not as important as you think it is.

aha, thanks, i think i knew the reason for the delay, i was misting on the substrate too, just started doing that 3 days ago, for once or twice a day, so i drilled some holes in the tray to drain it off the pooling water, if there was any, and i will stop misting it from now on. as evaporation is number one pinning trigger.
many thanks though!!

You want to mist the substrate. Get one of those pressurized fine misters and lightly mist the whole tub 2-3 times a day.

Evaporation can't occur if there's nothing to evaporate. Misting is still required when things get dry. And light's importance encompasses more than orientation. Mushrooms will grow toward the light, if there is any, closer to maturation, but it seems to play an important part in cap development and overall hardiness throughout the entire cycle.

You still want light tho yes. I noticed even pins grow towards the light source not just mature fruits.

sweet, i made some holes any way, so i can mist freely from now one, i just don't think i need to mist that much is RH is usually high here in Egypt, therefore its easier for me to maintain my RH in the tote, so any inputs?
i really appreciate all of your inputs already!
