Blocked chakras?

The practice of pretending to "smoke" air has been helping me quit tobacco as a kind of breathing exercise and I've started body awareness to move the nervous energy around, I get a distinct physical buzz bouncing around in my legs arms and head, but nothing whatsoever in the torso, which is where I want it to go, to open the heart so I can feel compassion and restore willpower. When I try moving it back and forth from head to toe it will just teleport and miss the torso entirely. I'm not even sure if this energy is the same thing as prana/chi? I've been trying to move my awareness and derail or disidentify with the destructive thought process but I'm not sure what else there is, like, how am I supposed to function without thoughts? It doesn't feel like I have an inner voice or anything to replace them with.
"Anahata is associated with the ability to make decisions outside the realm of karma. In Manipura and below, man is bound by the laws of karma and fate. In Anahata one makes decisions ("follows one's heart") based on one's higher self, not the unfulfilled emotions and desires of lower nature. As such, it is known as the heart chakra.[4] It is also associated with love and compassion, charity to others and psychic healing. Meditation on this chakra is said to bring about the following siddhis: he becomes a lord of speech, he is dear to women, his presence controls the senses of others, and he can leave and enter the body at will."
how exactly do I locate this (and other) chakra/s so I can meditate on it/them?

I don't know. Maybe concentrate the eye on energy center to where you see fit. Find the seed and water, nourishe to grow opening up to flower. Seed, root, petals, stem, etc. Definitely, seed to root.

It seems like you are moving the position of you awareness. This is more like sorcery I think. If you look at books by carlos castaneda it would be your assemblage point you are moving I think. Maybe try looking into kabbalah and focusing your energy awareness into one of the sephirot and seeing what happens. I use this technique to remote view and have lucid dreams. If you can imagine that energy teleporting somewhere distant you can use it to sense the environment in some way.

There are various types of chakra meditation you can do, but if you are looking to open the heart chakra, something like a Buddhist lovingkindness meditation might be a good place to start. The problem with the heart is that it is so blocked in most people. It is the site of one of the three granthis, or knots, which in yoga are three big blockages in our bodies that we all have built up over the years. Eventually specific practices to untie the knot might be needed, but whatever you can do to use your heart, to feel loving intention, that will start to revive it.

thanks, I found some interesting stuff to read while researching the assemblage point and casteneda, but I'm not sure if that's what I can feel. How does it help with lucid dreams though just out of interest?

I used to meditate a lot on my third eye chakra.
I didn't start opening other chakras until I started taking Ayahuasca.
This was one of the first meditations she taught me.
Sit as though you're meditating. Imagine your mother's heart beat when you were in the womb. Now imagine every heartbeat of every mother going all the way back. Back before we were human. All the way back. Then imagine them all the way forward. So you have a continuance of love going forward and back, all connected, one heart beat.
Another one she recently showed me was to hold my hands in a cradle in my lap as though you're cradling a child. Focus on the life of the child throughout the session. I'm not quite sure if this is the heart chakra though, it may be one of the root chakras.
All of this was taught directly to me by my spirit teacher. So I don't know rather or not it can really help someone else as it may not be easy to translate into words. But it's what's worked out well for me.
Also, being male, I've worked a lot on Anima integration. Stuff I traditionally see as female (compassion, empathy, nurturing).
As far as intentionally opening chakras, I haven't had much success with that. I follow my spirit guide's advice, or what I presume is her advice. If she presents with a lot of one color I find the associated chakra and will spend some time focusing my attention there.
Sometimes blocks can be something that has to be removed. Ayahuasca purging, direct removal by spirit, it's generally not something I can do alone. Sometimes it's more like a knot. Like a muscle that's tense and needs to relax. This I can do with visualization.
Stretching, yoga, and being in tune with my body seems to help a lot too.

Hey thanks.
muckmuck, one more thought, not so much about chakras but general meditation practice.
Something that's helped me a lot is to focus on my upper lip and breath in and out softly through my nose. I focus on the subtle changes in temperature. The subtle sensation of the air moving.
Practicing that has helped me a lot to focus my mind where I want.

Anyway good luck! Feel free to pm me or hit up this thread again if you have any questions
