Well, I knew the fungus was fomes fomentarius. I had to do some research to come up with the chemical though. Fomentariol

You've got the right genus in mind, but not the chemical.
Hint: A similar chemical is found in kava-kava

bisnoryangonin, the nonmethylated version of the kavalactone yangonin. Found in several Gymnopilus species.

Here's an easy one: what is the blue hydrocarbon skeleton in the compound below: 
Found in this mushroom:

(This is one of the few colored hydrocarbons. I was really happy to learn it occurred in some of my favorite mushrooms.)

Normally, when someone gets a guess right, they will then post images of both a chemical and a mushroom that contains the chemical. This way the thread keeps advancing smoothly.
Here's a mushroom that looks very similar to at least a few different Agaricus species.

Hint: To find this chemical, you might have to browse the introduction of a paper on Group B Streptococcal Arthritis. You also might find a cool patent on Google Patents that is pretty impressive, if true.
