What's up, y'all? Just got out of the shower, now I'm gonna try to scrape together a bowl and watch Trailer Park Boys.
What are y'all up to on this fine evening?

What's up. Finally home from work. Had an after work meeting. It was aight tho. At least it covered some important topics and wasn't just like "hey you guys need to sell more stuff" type one. Day off tomorrow, but I do have a gardening class to teach between 10 and 11. Teaching about growing fall and winter veggies in containers. Not really my strongest subject, but I'm sure I'll do fine.
Right now I'm just chillin with bong and beer unwinding.

Hey guys! Had a rough day, found out that kitty has been peeing on my clothes because she has a bladder issue. Blood in her urine. Taking her in to the vet first thing tomorrow, but I feel like a dick for all the times I scolded her.
Made some homemade chicken stock and butternut squash soup, though. Also downloaded Metroid Prime Trilogy and Skyward Sword for my roommate's modded wii. I shall binge tomorrow!

Urinary tract infection, bladder infection or kidney stone.
Is it sort of pinkish pee or straight up red? If it's tinted pink it's more than likely a urinary tract infection or kidney/bladder stone.
If it's very red it might mean a rupture in the bladder or in the ducts leading from the kidneys.
I don't mean to scare you but the good thing is that it may be as simple as antibiotics. The veterinarian will need a urine sample. Not a full cup like you're taking a drug test. The cleaner container the better. You can use an upside down lid from a tupperware. They won't need a lot. Just don't stress the cat trying to force him or her to go in it. Walking in with a sample will save you money (just looking at the sample under a microscope). If he or she is peeing on your clothes or coats they are trying to tell you something is wrong.
If the cat is drinking a lot and not peeing a lot it's more than likely a bladder stone. The more information you have when you walk in the door the better diagnostics you'll get and sooner.
15 years in the animal field.
Best of luck to you and the kittie.

Thanks for the advice! And yeah, I took her in today, but she peed in the crate on the way there, so I have to board her there tomorrow so they can get a sample. I'm leaving paper bags out as decoys for her to pee on, but it wouldn't be a very sterile sample.
Her urine has streams of heterogeneous blood, so it's gotta be in the tract itself. If it were homogenized, it would be happening in the bladder. (unless it can separate after, I don't really know). I used some test strips to find that her urine Ph is about 6.3-6.8 (normal), so I don't think it's stone related. She does eat dry food exclusively though, so the vet was saying that is a risk factor for spontaneous tract inflammation. It's been getting worse over the last two weeks though, so I really think it's UTI.
Here's hoping it isn't cancer; my love for her is infinite, but my wallet will only take us so far

Insomnia is a bitch. Mindfulness is the best thing if you don't have medicine; count your breaths. Focusing on your frustration at being awake will only make you more awake; you gotta break the cycle! That's the biggest catch 22.

I have an rx for trazodone which will put me to sleep as long as I don't take it regularly, I haven't filled it in like a month. I don't like going to bed unless I'm super duper exhausted, and I use a tablet, read, and even sketch in my bed and my sleep habits overall are a big problem. I need more discipline in that department, but as long as I don't nap after work I should get it all evened out by tomorrow night.

Sleep hygiene is very important, but yes, I abuse these "rules" too with no sign of improvement. We're basically fucked by the age of 55, but sleep is for the weak.

night owl livin'.
I sometimes don't dream for long periods of time because sleep gets so spotty that when I do sleep my body is constantly catching up on all that lost sleep and isn't properly cycling through sleep stages - at least that's my theory. I feel like I could never ever recall a dream for a solid six months once, but working at a bar till 3am didn't help that.

Sorry to hear your cat is under the weather Giftofdeprivation.
Sorry to hear about your trouble sleeping Pirate.
As for me, I'm hitting the hay. I am teaching a gardening class in the morning, so I'd better be reasonably rested.

@P-B: Yeah, dreams are a luxury!
Nah, things could be worse. Just daily tribulations, really.
Have fun and get some rest, that sounds very rewarding!

Me too! Moonrockmushy is so sweet for doing it for me. It looks great on my end. The others all ended up pixelated no matter which site I used. Even mobile friendly ones via url or uploading.
Been away here and there and it's nice to see the community forums still have good people.
Oh and tomorrow my new bed comes!
King size Sleep Number i8. You can raise your legs up and down and same with the head of the bed. Both of us are tired of being in pain every single night so we splurged. Did a few split transactions for frequent flyer miles and will just pay it off before it accrues interest.
I'm so excited. There's even an app that comes with it that tells you your pressure points and which times of night you frequently get up and suggests a new number. The mattress and cover redistribute heat too. I'm freezing at night and my husband turns the bed into an oven. Going to be so awesome.

Just watched "Tomorrowland" with 404
Going to sleep within 10 mins. Man, having no work recently really trashed up my sleeping schedule.

Now that I've got two hours before I've got to get up I feel like I could go to bed. Idk if I should go for the two hours of sleep and risk being more tired after waking or just stay up, normally as long as I'm around other people and engaged in what I'm doing I can get through a day with no sleep pretty well until that 2pm feeling.
