Peyote is only found in one county in west Texas. That is the only place peyote grows naturally in the wild anymore is what I read, because of over picking. You have to be a native and get official permission to go onto that land and pick though. Makes more sense to just buy Peruvian porch

Ayahuasca is from Africa?

No I meant you have to order ayahuasca from online, sorry. Or the ingredients for it, anyway. It is from south America.

That's too bad. It was a lot more humorous when you thought the Amazon was in Africa.

Not gonna happen honestly. I know technically it's said to exist here, but really, you're not likely to find the shit. Every goddamn teen has scoured for it, I am among that number. You're basically looking for the gold at the end of the rainbow.

Buy a cowboy hat, ride a horse in the middle of desert, dig for oil and yell YeeeHaww while simultaneously firing two revolvers in the air after you found some. Also acceptable would be to do a little jig and wave you're hat in the air.

Or move to Canada, ask what Skating is all aboot, get good healthcare when you get frostbite, learn some French while you're in the hospital then eat some shitty incarnation of "french fries" and chase it with maple syrup when you get out and end every sentence with "eh?".

Did I hit on enough stereotypes?

Hockey is kind of implied with skating. The other two, fair enough. Skate out to club seals, realize a blizzard is rolling in, and then build an igloo, at which point you get frost bite and can resume the rest of the stereotypes.

For Texas or Canada?

Shooting in Texas really isn't as wide spread as you'd think. There is no public land we can go to shoot guns on. Other parts of the US have plenty of public land you can go shooting on. Other than ranges, we're pretty much SOL here. You either go to a range, have a friend with the appropriate land, or pay for a deer lease or something. Otherwise you risk legal trouble. As much as people like act like Texas is the gun happy state, it's really not.

I knew eventually this joke was going to get made -- since there's an outsider perception that Texas is basically the wild west or some shit when it comes to guns.

But if you go look at the annual most violent city rankings, Dallas & Houston don't come anywhere close to the top of the list.

Neither cracks Forbes top ten list:

http://www.forbes.com/pictures/mlj45jggj/1-detroit/

1. Detroit
2. St. Louis
3. Oakland
4. Memphis
5. Birmingham
6. Atlanta
7. Baltimore
8. Stockton
9. Cleveland
10. Buffalo

This top 100 list has Houston checking in at 68, behind cities such as Oklahoma City, Philly, Miami, Kansas City, Buffalo, Newark, DC, Atlanta, Milwaukee, Baltimore, Cleveland, St. Louis, Memphis, Oakland, etc.

And Dallas doesn't even make the top 100.

It's still undetermined if that was a general reply to the thread or the offshoot convo me and Paltal were having.

It's possible he was just saying to go shooting as I suggested Renfair or we both suggested going to Galveston. As it's the "thing to do in Texas".

I do agree that many have the wrong idea about Texas. It's one of the states stereotyped the most. Especially when it comes to guns. The fact is we are far less free than a lot of states. Outsiders love to act as if we're a bunch of inbred gun toting morons. We're pretty free in obtaining guns (my first one took me all of 30 minutes to buy, no waiting period or anything) but avenues to practice with them, or even circumstances in which we can use them against a person, there are many states way ahead of us in terms of "freedom". I dunno if Florida has them outlawed on public land, but they are certainly a lot more free in terms of "justified shooting".

Texas is no where near the wild west stereotype anymore. I mean fuck, we just recently gained the ability to open carry (and is not even legal until next year) an ability many states have had for a long time. Also last I checked, to open carry you still have to have our concealed carry license. It's not really about "freedom" so much as "choice".
