Things to do in Texas
    #22270815 - 09/21/15 06:29 PM (8 years, 4 months ago)

So I put my two weeks in today and will be going to the Houston area to help take care of my grandmother until we figure out where and what she needs. I won't be blazing down there but will take my kratom. My question is what are some fun things to do? I've never been to H town and I'm from Wyoming so it will be very different.

You can go down to Galveston and hang out on the coast. Or if you like to bar hop, Houston has several options. Washington Avenue, Rice Village area, and Montrose come to mind.

What part of WY were you from if you don't mind me asking? I was up in Rock Springs a few years for work at one time.

 I don't really have a habit of going out and doing things. I know Houston is pretty diverse and has lots of shit to do, I just never really have. Going to Galveston can be fun. Can go to the beach during the day or go at night and just chill around the coast. I dunno how fun that would be sober, last time I went to the coast at night we were doing shrooms and it was pretty fun. Still have a month or two before it gets too cold to do. If you like fishing a lot of people go there to fish, even shark fishing. I think most people target Red Drum at Galveston though. If you wanna go on a charter boat they also have those there as well. I've only went once and we didn't catch much. Can go exploring in Sam Houston Natural Forest. RenFair is coming up as well.

Generally Houston is so big that there is always something going on or something coming up in the very near future.

I spent some time down in Houston, and I always wanted to stay at a beachfront house rental for a night and trip my face off right on the beach.

Never got a chance to do it though unfortunately. Maybe sometime down the road.

Unless it's just to feel secure or something has changed, you don't even have to rent the house to do it. Been quite a few years but they used to allow people to camp on the beach. I've done it quite a few times, as long as you're not out there acting stupid or causing problems the patrols that run through don't really care. Every time we've camped on the beach, they'd drive past every hour or two and not even stop to see what we were doing. Had a fire going and everything. It's really cool to just chill at the beach at night around a campfire with a few friends/family members and drink some beer, smoke some weed and take in the scenery. The time I tripped at the beach wasn't us camping there though. We left on the comedown (driver wasn't tripping, only me and this other chick was).

Wasn't aware that you could just straight up camp on the beach. That's awesome.

Jackson Hole/Grand Tetons/Yellowstone region is probably my favorite place in the country. Love that area more than words can describe.

I live in H-town atm,
&&There really isnt much to do here.(Miss the UK, cant wait to finish school)

I vape my weed..
Drink my krat...
Eat my mushrooms..
Rock climb, hit the bar, fishing, or go take the dirtbike out to the sam houston trails..
Sometimes we get good festivals/events.

Btw, fuck Galveston. Its nasty there,
Corpus Christi is wayyyy better.. even Port Aransas.

If you go to galveston stay on the sea wall or harbor side, broadway is ok but most nasty parts in the middle of the city.

or you could go down to ferry road and take a boat ride to crystal beach its a way smaller town with a pretty chill vibe. and the beach is better you can drive on it and smoke a joint while riding by the surf.
