Need Identification - Colorado
    #22270496 - 09/21/15 05:24 PM (8 years, 4 months ago)

Habitat:
Relatively manicured lawn area around a golf course.  Found growing near some pine trees and possibly growing ontop of a stump.  Denver climate - temperate and dry

Gills:
Gills start off as white, getting tan (a brown or purplish hue), and finally to a dark tan/brown.

Stem:
2.5-4.5 inches, mostly white and off white.  The pictures might look gray but thats just the angle - from head on they are mostly white.  Slightly larger at the base for some but mostly uniform in thickness.

Cap:
.75-3inches, color is white to tan usually mixed, smooth texture, conical as juveniles and eventually flattening out.  The old ones are dryer and curled.

Spore print color:
Very few spores, they appear a light shade of black.  The picture on the paper towel shows my best attempts

Bruising:
none seen

Other information:
Very mild scent, smells shroomy.  My nose is not gifted.

Looks to be a Psathyrella species.

If you consider the source, it's kinda pitiful
The only thing you really know about me is.....That's all you'll ever know!!!!

They end up being a bit browner than Psathyrella candolleana, bummer they're probably not psychoactive then.

I think yours are within the color range of Psathyrella candolleana.

All species of Psathyrella are edible and none are active.
