If it has fungicides then you most definitely do not want to use it for a fungus cultivation...make sure you read the label or ask someone before you make that mistake.

fungicides only work to stop spores not mycelium so it won't have any effect when used as a bulk sub, i'm yet to see any steer manure sprayed with fungicide but if it was it would be labeled as such, mix it 50/50 and make sure to dry the manure out on a tarp first

Well OP, I apologize for the misinformation...I was (still am) uneducated about how fungicides work...and cronicr thank you for the quick correction , as well as the gem of information... looks like I need to hit the books.

I've used the stuff plenty times before. ITs not the ideal stuff but it works. I use it for whenever I throw spawn out, I mix a little of that with it and put it in a hole and I get more mushies in my patch later

I've heard the steer manure turns kinda muddy and gross and is a pain to work with but I've never used it personally.
I would at least add some coir into the mix, and a hand full of gypsum.
My favorite substrate, is coir , gypsum, vermiculite and pasturized straw. Bales of straw are easy to get this time of year and its really easy to pasturized
I bucket tek. The coir and then pasteurized the straw and mix together

Yea you just have to properly pasturize it, between 140 and 170 F for 1 hour

Definitely make sure to do this, that stuff contaminates easily. The muddy texture can be fixed with coir and lots o verm. If you need an easy way to pasteurize I recommend the "improved bucket tek" (someones not gonna like that I said that lol) I've had great success with it. I put my ingredients (coir/hpoo/verm/gypsum) into a thick black trash bag and place that into a bucket. I break the coir brick up as much as possible so that I can mix it easily with the hpoo and verm. I then boil to pots of water, one at 170F that goes into the sub mix and one at 185F that goes into a second bucket that I've wrapped the sides of in an emergency blanket and another small, regular blanket over that. After pouring the 185F into the second bucket I place the first bucket into the second bucket, pour the 170F water onto the sub mix, put a thermometer probe into it and put the lid on. I wrap that all in one more blanket and set a timer for 2 hours. When I come back 2 hours later the temp is at 155F
