that's all biology. it doesn't explain the experience. i don't claim to know anything about it, but having had the experience i doesn't seem like i'm dealing with my own mind. it would be interesting for you to have a breakthrough and report back to us.

What I am saying is, I don't believe there is any point at which I would have a so-called break through. If 7grams of mushrooms, a hit of LSD, and a large portion of DMT doesn't do it, what will?

I would be willing to try any amount of DMT, but I have severe doubts that any amount would "change my mind". I do not think the biology "explains away" the experience, but I think that people are absolutely getting carried away when they say they are "seeing other dimensions" when they take it.

Both options are equally possible IMO. Both beliefs are dependent on faith and ultimately cannot be proven despite all the evidence they may have behind them.

I personally think the scientific belief is not quite as awesome or trippy/interesting as the more spiritual alternative. But that's just me.

The biological explanation for the mechanism of DMT's activity in the brain is not "based on faith". It is an explanation about the what is happening to the brain when you take DMT. There may be certain assumptions required in the inductive and deductive reasoning process required to arrive at the conclusions involved in understanding those mechanisms of actions, but those assumptions are not the same thing as "faith". Faith is hoping for something you cannot prove. We dont "hope" that DMT works a certain way. We assume certain basic things because they seem to be the case based demonstrable evidence.

I don't even weigh my dmt out when I smoke it. A while back I loaded a shit ton in my friends pipe. Hit it and threw up on myself from coughing so hard and blacked out. Came back crying it was such a beautiful experience

just to be clear, i'm not refuting the biology. i just don't think you can reduce the experience to biology. we agree that the stuff about "other dimensions" is reaching because there is no empirical evidence to base that claim on. all i'm saying is that it seems as if you go somewhere and that it seems as if you're interacting with something that is other, and i mean it in the sense that it is convincingly, almost disturbingly, real. my experiences were on the level of being in a room with someone else, and i had no awareness of my body until it was over.

i do think you're capable of having a breakthrough on it. sometimes people will smoke it and it won't do much. why? i don't know. like i said, it's weird shit. lol

I didn't really like it that much. The body sensations were uncomfortable for the first 30sec-1min while I still 'had' a body to speak of. Then, upon resumption of consciousness the body sensations were yet again uncomfortable; marked by rapid heat rate, the feeling of increased blood pressure, simultaneous coldness and hotness all and far too much adrenaline floating around (think--falling off of your chair backwards). My time spent on the other side was interesting--almost awe inspiring, but I found I was merely a curious observer rather than a participant (if that makes any sense). I found that any thoughts I had during or after were rather superficial and nonsensical. There are many other hallucinogens I prefer.

I've smoked DMT maybe about 10 times.

The last few times were the most intense and profound.

As soon as I made a machine and starting smoking out of that, I knew that was the only way to go.

I've smoked it with weed multiple times and never really got there.

The first time I smoked out of my machine, I loaded 100mg because I wasn't sure if it was going to work right.

But it did, more so than I expected.

Before I broke through a few times, I thought if I had a stash of DMT, i'd smoke it all the time.

Then I  acquired about 14g of it and have only smoked it a few times since.

I think about it a lot, but I just don't go in that often.  I could load lower doses but the whole act gives me anxiety sometimes lol.

That all goes away after I exhale though.  Then I feel like I should never be nervous about it because it's such a beautiful experience.

I usually have a machine or two loaded at all times in case I get the urge to smoke.  And the second one is usually packed in case a friend wants to travel with me.

I love DMT I just feel weird smoking it sometimes, makes me feel like an intense druggie. This is most likely due to the culture I live in but I always feel bad smoking it, like if my mom ever found out I smoked something called Dimethyltryptamine shed probably disown me.

I would use 1gram of dmt, and whatever other tryptamines were in the mix(did an a/b extraction of acrb), and mix with 1gram of cannabis by dissolving it with IPA and mixing. I would load a little bowl in a bong and torch it, it was pure insanity, before I could finish exhaling I was in another dimension. It was a feeling of intense acceleration, and indescribable shapes and colors. I think I was getting more 5meo cuz I overdid it once, everything went white, I started yelling for help(my gf doesn't like the smell so I did it in the bathroom) I couldn't see the bong in my hand but I knew it was there and didn't want to drop and break it. I stumbled to our room and my gf says I was trying to run, but kept falling, with a look of terror on my face, and then started convulsing, I felt like I was dying, and I somehow knew I broke the universe and there was no going back, it was utter terror, that somehow lasted for about 45minutes. So just be careful, know what you're doing, it's not worth dying over, I love psychedelics but I've since learned, to take it slow, give these substances the utmost respect and find your plant ally and stick with it, for me the mushroom

well said.

DMT is NOT for the faith of heart!

Its for extreme psychonauts only who prefer their DMT trips during the peak a 600 micro lsd trip. Thats who DMT is for.

I smoked dmt on the peak of a 200mg MDMA  and 500ug LSD trip 2 weekends ago. Imagine your brain exploding and then multiply that times 1,000,000

Now you sound exactly like a religious person. "Maybe if you just let go of your belief that you can't have be saved, Jesus will come into your heart."

A balance should be stricken between the spiritual and the scientific; both by themselves are incomplete and dangerous IMO.

I went to Christian school as a kid; was completely ostracized for asking questions; I rejected their idea and for years I thought I was an atheist. Then I realized I was just pissed off at god because I misunderstood what god is.

Science is just as much a religious belief as any religion; or I should say it's practitioners are just as much believers as any practitioner of any religion. Scientists depend on belief and faith. They are one in the same. Albeit I'd bet my money on science being more accurate and truthful then religion nearly every time.

That said I believe in a spirituality that tries to meet half-way between spiritual and scientific.

What's all this mean? I think alternate-dimensions and speaking with entities, etc. are definitely possible; if not probable (as is everything given the idea of infinity).

I try to lead a what some people would call a spiritual life. I pray every day, and try to maintain a conscious contact with the God of my understanding. I constantly try to work on my character defects. I try to stay humble, and maintain a healthy respect for what I do not understand.

It seems to me that psychedelics are a good way to convince people that it is possible to have profound, dramatic changes in consciousness. But if you continually smoke DMT, you cannot function in life. DMT does not appear to me to directly change anyone's behavior for the better. Instead, after being shown that it is possible to change one's consciousness and to pursue that which cannot be understood, individuals should pursue personal changes and the unknown during their everyday lives.
