Talk about a holiday from the strains of it all!
-------------------- Let it be seen that you are nothing. And in knowing that you are nothing... there is nothing to lose, there is nothing to gain. What can happen to you? Something can happen to the body, but it will either heal or it won't. What's the big deal? Let life knock you to bits. Let life take you apart. Let life destroy you. It will only destroy what you are not. --Jac O'keeffe

Really feel like I had the most beneficial experience with them in my life. Maybe because life has been hard of late and I've waited a long time for the right moment.
Do those that receive a lot of benefit from their trips find the lessons tend to stay clear, or do they fade quite easily? (I have most often found this to be the case because of the more abstract thinking)

You make it sound like school...ewwwww (I hated school. I hate any saying with 'school' in it or 'lessons') I do not see psychedelic experience like that. First you must question the 'reality' you 'come down' to. I don't think many people think that. they tend to take for granted the 'reality' you have been conditioned to think is real---but is it? I do not think so, and psychedelics for me is seeing through the conditioning

On some trips, I turn off the sound on the TV and keep this on in the den while our regular, mostly Grateful Dead shows (or Ravi Shankar ragas at high doses), resounds through the speakers in living room, den, study, and sometimes poolside. Pull it up on your TV from YouTube:

Nothing seems to stay clear for long without some amount of effort. There are a lot of forces in everyday life trying to invade our thoughts, more often advertising with subliminal-psychological-warfare than anything. If I don't hold down what is me it'll all float away into someone else's definition. Same goes for the lessons, a feeling of importance can remain while the memory's filters rewrite the message if I let it. I bet some really shitty people may have had amazing psychedlic experiences in youth, I wouldn't doubt it. If you let it all go and rewrite yourself it doesn't really stick all that much.

Great post Trop. I totally feel you on everything you say, and you highlight something quite important about all this lark; working to hold onto it. It's a long shot, but could you in any way describe the ways in which you work to maintain that level of practice?
