Cop rating system idea

I been thinking a lot about how lately it's been open season on cops in America, and i want to try to find some way to curve or set up a system of accountability for the actions of the bad cops that ruin the image of good cops out there, because believe it or not their are some out there. My idea is somthing like our 5shroom rating chart. On every cop above their badge and on their profile should be a public rating system for people that have encounters with that cop. People once they get the badge number can rate and comment on that cop. This rateing can be an extra precaution for the public to know hey this guy is one pill short of a full medicine cabinet or this cop is a trusted protector. Also it can decided who maybe needs help or who should get credited for good work.
This is just an hatched idea, so i haven't worked out all the kinks yet but i think it would work. A 2 star cop would be under closer review and watch and less credible in trial and would be looking at termination if bad reports are consistent.
What do you think about this idea? What are some of your ideas to help fix this mess?

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Psalm 12:6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Revelation 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

If you get their name and badge number you can file a complaint that will be on their record forever.
If the complaint is severe enough like damaging property during an illegal search it can result in a demotion or other disiplinary action.
Always ask and write down their name and badge number.

Too bad at the moment, police are rarely disciplined based off of complaints like that - let alone murdering innocents

My homie pulled it off. Saw some jamband and his shirt in the back of the car still reeked like pot. Got the officer in charge of the investigation demoted and damages to his vehicle paid for when they cut open his back seat with a bowie knife.
Always get their name and badge number. Ask for it within the first 5 sentences of the interaction.

I don't know if it would work IRL. Cops in disadvantaged areas would all have shit ratings from all the wacked out crack heads they arrest. I'd like to see all police wearing Go pro's. Total accountability for all of their decisions, just like everyone else.

I think its a very good idea, op. You could set it up yourself on a free site.

The situation sucks, but a rating system wouldn't work so awesome even for decent cops - I imagine there'd be a lot of bad ratings out of spite from people who got speeding tickets and stuff even when they deserved it .
The safest(for civilians and cops, because they're people too and not all of them are bad like every other group of people) is body cams and a complaint system. The system is totally broken though, a cultural change has to happen, and police unions need to step the fuck back with the corruption and need major, major reform. If the union doesn't change, nothing will, if there is more regulation and greater accountability implemented by legislative powers, then it'll allow cultural change to happen - but that by nature is an extremely, extremely slow process.

yeah i like the idea too. kind of like a 'ratemyteacher' for cops, or a 'glassdoor' for cops. the only thing to think about is the potential long-term ramifications of such a system. how would it be gameable. what would its shortcomings be. how would you stop and/or regulate people from posting false or doing something that would lead to a wrongful disciplinary action or something similar.
granted, the benefits of the idea far outweigh the potential shortcomings. i like it

I could see it working a bit if it were done by an outside party like ratemyteacher - if I had to look up anonymous ratings about my job performance and their were negatives, I'd be unhappy and want to change it.
You know that this shit would never fly, though - it would get taken down citing individual officer safety or something.
still think body cameras and a complaint hotline that's properly regulated(barring other massive changes that will take a long time) would work better. If there's a complaint, I.A. should be reviewing body cam footage. I guess it would work in an ideal world, considering the amount of shit that gets caught on camera and is still denied and ignored by cops, I.A., and the police union.

They couldn't force anyone to take down the ratings, how about this for a name "good cop bad cop" which also is a jab at the tactics they use to get people to confess. Simply put disclaimers that the info is not verified. If someone gets roughed up by a cop and sees the same cop was sued for that and disciplined for that, they know its a bad cop so they should make a complaint.
If undercover cops had their photos posted that could be forced to come down. Unless the site is on the darknet.
Whoever does it and does it right can make a fortune with advertising.
