Perhaps, but I think not. It is becoming more apparent that at least some of our brain functioning is based on quantum-level events...which could not be accurately duplicated (because of the inability to measure them precisely) from one location to another.

In effect, this method would result in an approximate copy of the object being "teleported". This may not be accurate enough, where living matter is concerned.

Yeah, I am with you on this, I took the opposite side for the sake of discussion.

It may also be possible that our idea of extended distance is entierly an illusion...though I am not sure exactly how.
If you haven't, you should check the last issue of New Scientist for 2003. There is this article "Einstein on Acid", describing the work of a scientist who has gathered a number of level 5 trip reports on mushrooms (I am sure some people around here have contributed without their knowledge), and by statistically studying them has constructed an alternative model of spacetime based on these experiences.

You think not, therefore you are not. Hey, I have just philosophically teleported trendal out of existence. Never mind the quantum effects...

you can look around online, but they've come up with some sort of mathmatical trickery method to minimize the quantum uncertainty factor. in theory they CAN get all the info from an object.

wow it sounds like teleportation and time travel are somewhat similar if one uses the "connecting two points in space" description

Insert an "I think" mentally in front of eveything I say that seems sketchy, because I certainly don't KNOW much. Also; feel free to yell at me.

Yes, they are probably intimately connected...
