Sis.*
You've gotta do what you've gotta do to support your family but shifts like that will take their toll and grind your tits in the dirt. And yes on the psychic.
Just hoping you don't hurt yourself is all.

I've fallen asleep while driving before, multiple times in a row. I fell asleep then jolted awake and the adrenaline had me feeling ok until I fell asleep again about two minutes later. Repeated this three or four more times until I called it quits and pulled over to sleep on the side and f the road

My husband was finishing a job 3 hours away very late at night after a long day. I got a text "be home in 5". He had pulled over to text and after sending it fell asleep with his work truck on. I had to bring gasoline to him after driving up and down unpaved country roads because he wasn't responding. I was terrified when I saw his truck parked with the lights on and door open with no activity during deer season.

I experience microsleep on my way home sometimes.
Quote:
A microsleep (MS) is a temporary episode of sleep which may last for a fraction of a second or up to thirty seconds where an individual fails to respond to some arbitrary sensory input and becomes unconscious.

At my last job I would fall asleep standing up a few times a week.. doing nights and having kids was hard. Never fell over though.

yikes. at first I was gonna say that you should get checked for narcolepsy, then I remembered you just had a little one and are probably more tired than I have ever been haha.
And no, never fell asleep while standing. Driving? yes. I have a few memories of driving home from work at 3am and the only thing waking me up being the sound of those bumpy things that make the loud noises on the shoulder of the highway. That was a terrible drive, luckily it was only 10 minutes and there was no traffic on the road, but I didn't know what to do, it wasn't a safe place to just pull over to the side and stop, I couldn't sleep at work and didn't realize I'd be passing out as soon as I sat down when I was leaving.

Yeah it's for sure just from me being tired. I felt myself falling asleep a couple of times before I actually did and was tired enough to already be leaning on something. No narcolepsy here thankfully.
All these falling asleep while driving stories are scary as Fuck though. Especially since I have to pick up my boys before going home from this long shift.
