I always like to look at other people's tats and ask them what they mean. What tat are you most proud of and what does it mean to you?
I got this one after I got out of the hospital for a suicide attempt in 2008. I asked the artist for a girl who's been through it all, seen it all, has had enough, and isn't going to take it anymore.

I have no tats. When I get one, it will probably be some kind of image of a San Pedro cactus. Maybe the flower.

I'm trying to figure out what part of your body that tat is on. Is that the side of your torso?

Yep, it's on my torso between my boobs and my hips. It took 11 total hours to put it on. The pain was pretty bad because of the location.
I'm loving looking at everyone's tats and ideas for tats! Keep 'em coming!

I always like to hear the story behind the ink. Tattoos are cool but they are also a work of art that will permanently be placed on an individual's living canvas. Imo it should represent something significant to that person.
I'm a bit obsessed with symbolism though.
I've been trying to get a cover up for over a year now. One of the reasons I haven't been able to get it done is because my blood pressure keeps spiking to insane levels and I don't want to bleed all over the artist

Why would you show your tats? Tats are very incriminating. There are soo many threads asking to show your car, show your tats, show your mod, show your shoes etc... If that's not building a profile on someone idk what is lol

I'm in love with this new trend of using painting/wet-media techniques and styles to design tattoos. So cool looking.
http://illusion.scene360.com/art/50755/tattoos-inspired-by-painting-techniques/
I don't have one. I would like to get an angler fish luring a scuba diver down into the depths, or at least an angler fish if the design I've got figured out in my head doesn't translate well or whatever. The image is burned in my head and scuba diving is a big part of my life and the imagery means a lot to me in more than the literal sense.
I've got a bit of my tax return left over from my vacation, only around 300. I would love to get a nice big beautiful piece on my back and I could probably get a start on that, though I'm anticipating that I'll be dropping at least a grand to get it finished, though I may get a smaller one first, maybe on the side of my upper thigh, maybe incorporated into the back piece id. I have a pretty high pain tolerance, but seeing as what I ultimately want is going to take multiple long sessions, I also want to see if the pain is something that'll be worth the price and upkeep of something I could put on canvas and hang in my house
I want whatever I choose placed tastefully, and so that I can wear sleeveless dresses and show my arms and legs from the mid/lower thigh down without showing any ink.

Granted I'd probably never get one myself. I wouldn't bother with the maintenance of a colored tattoo.

I've got this on my arm I don't have a current picture and it's at an odd angle to take myself to me this movie poster perfectly sums up 1950s sci fi
1950s SciFi was a reflection of our hopes and fears for the future, a glimpse of the unknown. The atomic age was perfect for this, the idea of space travel was looming on the horizon but the nuclear demons were on the periphery. Will the air explode and the atmosphere burn off? Will the radiation create monsters? and when we reach the stars what will we find?
We have become board with space. We now know it's empty the radiation gremlins have been tamed, we use it to cure disease, heat our food, and keep milk fresh.
in modern SciFi we don't marvel at alien worlds we trudge through dystopian wastelands, we don't invent gadgets and gizmo's to make our lives better we just add lasers to our weapons and create new ways to kill.
I like modern SciFi but the old stuff was so much better, more fantastic, more fun. the way steam punk was born out of Jules Verne's vision of the future the Retro Futuristic aesthetic will live on and flourish

I got this one after I got out of the hospital for a suicide attempt in 2008. I asked the artist for a girl who's been through it all, seen it all, has had enough, and isn't going to take it anymore.

Wow shroomer, that is one kickass radical tattoo!
Sorry to hear about your dark episode though... hope it was the last of its kind!
I don't have tats, but I love to draw alien hieroglyphs, and have an interest in pre-computer age cryptography.
So I sometimes fantasize about getting some kind of cryptic message on the shoulder blades.. kind of like a self designed alien abduction artefact on my back ... that actually means something.
Haven't got the guts though ... and have yet to come up with a message the combines things like prime numbers and cosmic love
Anyway, my love to you, and I hope you are at peace!
Hanz.

You mean Spike? he's the 2nd best character and you don't even know his name?
bro i couldn't remember it instantly. it came to me like an hour after i posted, but was like why edit that, mostly because he's not THE best, so my vague description of him stayed.
plus as a kid i literally called him desert snoopy.
