Question about colonization....
    #2226348 - 01/07/04 05:34 PM (13 years, 5 months ago)

Just a couple people told me half way through colonization I should flip my jars upside down obviously so mycelium will grow on the bottom sides of the jars.. But won't this slow the grow process considering I'd be covering the airholes which can only be at the top of the jar? The only reason I'm concerned is the first 6 days of colonization I did have these holes covered but no sealed and had almost no growth.. I removed them and 2 days later more then 1/4 of each jar is colonized.. I'd say prop them up off the ground, but I think that would effect the heat and might be a waste of time.. Will enough air get into the jars so that I dont have to wait a month for all of the mycelium to grow?

You dont HAVE to flip them upside down. Theyll do just fine right side up. Some people just like to micro-manage thier grow (get real finicky about every little detail).  :shake:
Flipping them doesnt do anything signifigant enough for it to be a real important stepin the whole process.  :smirk:

Good luck.
