Shitty Dental Work

So for the first time In my life I actually snagged a "bad" dentist. Guy was young, worked for the low income dental group who was the only folks who would take me, and he did a crown for a fucking tooth I cracked. Dude was about to go on break and long story short, did a shit job because he stopped what he was doing half way through, and decided to go on lunch and just sent me home. To this day this fucking crown is shitty and I cant chew food that is too hard on the left side of my mouth.
Anyone else have shit dental stories? Im kind of pissed off, and disheartened with dentists in general now. I know this tooth is either going to need a root canal and a new crown or just to be pulled....but im treading water financially as it is.
Anyone else have bad dental fears or experiances

Just be thankful you even have teeth. Thanks to a combination of severe phobia to dentists and that my grandparents thought it was normal to never brush your teeth, by my early teens all of mine were completely fucked. Eventually had them all taken out because of how much work fixing them all would have necessitated (to get them all removed you can just go to the hospital for day surgery and be completely put under). I thought it'd be fine, dentures can't really be that bad. At this point I don't think I've even really used them in a few years. My bottom jaw is fucked up and has exposed bone, so wearing them on that sucks. They also cut into the insides of your mouth after long periods. I'm too afraid of the dentist to go get the exposed bone grinded down or whatever they'd have to do to fix it and even if I could, wearing them still sucks. Probably because I can't afford to really drop the money on a high end dentist.
Not to mention I've found it actually easier to eat without them than with them. With them I'm basically barred from eating anything approaching being hard. Without the only thing I can't really eat is nuts.
--------------------
With my face against the floor I can’t see who knocked me out of the way. I don’t want to get back up but I have to so it might as well be today. Nothing appeals to me no one feels like me, I’m too busy being calm to disappear. I’m in no shape to be alone contrary to the shit that you might hear. You can't wake up, this is not a dream. You're part of a machine, you are not a human being With your face all made up, living on a screen. Low on self esteem, so you run on gasoline

I should probably get into that mindset, considering I chew tobacco. Not exactly the action of a man who gives a shit about his teeth but truthfully since my early 20's Ive been trying hard to brush and give a shit. Just a bitch when fucking olive pit introduces a bit of reality on the dental side of being human. Guess I should be grateful, in developing countries dentists are a serious luxury with a severe lack of them....most people starting to loose teeth to periodontal disease by their late 20's

Most dental is really considered a cosmetic service.
I still have all my teeth I'm plan on making a trip to the dentist next month.. Kinda nervous. Been probably 5 years since my last visit so I'm sure there will be a bunch of work they will want to do

Well there are permanent implants too but honestly the thought of them drilling threading in my bone sounds insanely excruciating. I can't even get over the needle for the local anesthetic. The last dentist that stuck me with a needle I ended up passing out and start violently convulsing in the chair. It doesn't hurt that much, but there's something about it I just can't get over. I was relaxed at the time and thought I was doing good, but then I woke up (without having realized I ever passed out) and like all the nurses/assistants are in my room with my dentist freaking out and nearly having a heart attack or some shit over it.
Looking back on it I regret getting them out, if I could go back I'd explore other options. Gum disease and shit runs in my family though, so I think even if I had been brushing I'd of still had a lot of issues with my teeth. My mom got dentures when she was 20 for pretty much the same reason (every tooth had rotted and a lot had exposed nerves). Grandma also got hers at the same age.
And I wouldn't say you're a whiny bitch about it, just be glad you have them. Living without them really sucks. For a couple of years I could only even handle soft foods. The idea of eating stuff like chips or really crispy fried food was just completely out of the picture. I can eat that stuff now though (to a degree, if any fried food gets close to being "over done" or dehydrated, I can't eat it). I guess my gums have hardened up over time with me constantly using them to "chew". Some of my all time favorite snack foods were pistachios and cashews though.. And you just can't do that.

pull your own tooth it isn't rocket science. I mean you might die or something but if you save $20 then it'll be worth it.
Myself ive vowed to never go to the dentist again. Im convinced these mercury fillings poisoned me cuss soon as I got them my health went down the shitter immedietly. Lots of people are allergic to metal, so what do these retards do, they put metal in your mouth and never test anyone to see if they are allergic? just brilliant.
not to mention when he put them in the nurse kept asking if I really needed them, so they fuck 2 of my teeth for live drilling huge holes in them when all they didn't even need it, then a few months later they cut out my wisdom teeth which grew in right next to the ones they drilled like if these idiots weren't such scam artists they would have just knocked those teeth they drilled out and let my wisdom teeth grow in
anyways dentists are 100% scammers, fuck those people, its a dieing trade. Let your teeth rot, let them fall out, if they start to hurt knock them out. And if you do it that way your teeth will prolly last longer anyway. It took them like 2 mins to drill through my teeth, that was prolly 30 years of enamel if left untouched.
You hear all that bullshit about you only have so much enamel but the truth is it actually does repair itself and grow back just really slowly. So stop eating/drinking sugar, brush, and say fuck the dentist.
also if you wait long enough a tooth problem can become medical then your insurance has to cover it again you might die but if not then ???? PROFIT!

It's a dying trade??? HAHAHAHA! I have to disagree with that. We're not to that point in the future where we can receive bionic chompers.
I think times will change (thanks to Obamacare) where people will start getting more access to dental service and we will see a trickle-down effect of better dental hygiene with a generation or two. We're already years ahead most countries.
But most private dentists are scams.

it really is a dying trade, talk to any dentist, since the depression people have stopped going in for regular exams, its mostly just women and serious tooth pain that brings people in now.
That's why when they released info on that new shit they are coming out with that produces enamel in the same time it takes to do a cavity with mercury, they made a big deal to say that it would help keep customers because they wouldn't fear dentists. Partly because mercury fillings are a bait/hook for dentists, soon as they give you one your hooked to dentists for life because its not a question of if, but when it falls out and u have to get it repaired, shits big business for them.

I have really nice teeth actually.
All my dentists do comment though and ask why my teeth are grinded up. One tried to make me buy a mouth gard and asked if I had been partying so I think they know.
Otherwise I have a really beautiful set of pearly whites.

I don't know about dentistry dying off... The median dental salary has raised considerably the last 20 years and the lowest paid dentist still makes $70k / year while higher-end dentists make over $180k a year..... so someone is going to the dentist.

I actually just booked a dentist appointment. It is a perfect straight edge activity.
I like going to the dentist and leaving the office with fresh teeth.

Nitrous is allowed for a straight edge person if it is part of the procedure. Same with the vicodin. If you need it you need it. Straight edge people are not Amish.

Right. Because straight-edge folks use electricity (ie like using the phone to call their doctor to reorder their vicodin and adderall)

Amish people don't go to the dentist. You didn't know that?
Lots of them get all their teeth removed and get dentures.

I didn't say people don't go to the dentist. Also since you think pay has anything to do with their business dying off im going to just assume you lack the logic to make this an interesting conversation.
work that takes years of college to get into get paid a lot, that's all your statement means and has nothing to do with what was discussed.
the economy is based off of a growing population, so the number of women, kids, ect is going to rise, while % wise the number of men going, and checkups is rapidly dropping
