Casing help!!
    #22261943 - 09/19/15 08:29 PM (8 years, 4 months ago)

Can anyone give me or direct me to a good 50/50 coir/verm casing tek? My jars are fully colonized and I used popcorn as my grain using a inoculation tek I found on shroomery. Just can't seem to find a good casing tek.. All help's appreciated

mix coir and verm, bring to field capacity, pasteurize or sterilize. case. use gypsum if you want.

50/50 casing tek isn't 50:50 coir verm it's peat and verm.

How much should I use to case my monotub? A light dusting, or a generous covering?

no more than 1/4-3/8 inch thick very even.

you can case with coir verm, but the 50/50 teks are peat/verm.

you can rely on their water ratios but you should find your own field capacity. coir and verm can be sterilized rather than pasteurized.

I like coco coir because it's a sterile medium for growing and I love using it for my other organics and herbs. I want to hydrate, and microwave it for a total of 10 minutes at 2 and a half minute bursts with stirring in between (no PC)

If I don't have a pc, how would you recommend I sterilize?
