I just popped this cake out of one of the smallest tubs, I'm going to case it and stick it into another tub to fruit.

Good morning everybody, this morning a few of the tubs have gone thru the casing, I've patched a couple of them and then misted them down again. Were they not getting enough fae?
I didn't get a chance to case the smallest cake last night I covered him with the bottom part of his tub.

G'morning.
Don't patch them, leave them be & let it rock. You want your casing 30-40% colonized anyway. && stop misting them.

I made a huge compost from straw, manure, vermiculite, gypsum and water that I've tended over the course of a couple of years in giant plastic tubs and let it dry out.

I added equal amounts of vermiculite to the mix plus a pinch more gypsum mixed it all up really good and took out about a quarter of it and put it aside. I have a bucket of black cow chunks sitting outside that collects rain water and I stir it up sift it out and wet down the mix until it's drippy then I mix in the rest of the dry ingredients to get it to field capacity then I put into cooking bags & pop it into a giant tortilla warmer and heat it to 140-145 for one hour. I use manure water for all my substrates.

They're in the fruiting chamber but they still are going thru the casing, I didn't patch these but I've got an itchy finger to patch them.

They'll stop colonizing once pinning has begun.
DON'T PATCH.
