Rye bag HELP!

I inoculated about 4 weeks ago (virgin to this btw). I mistakenly did not shake up the bags after. For 2 weeks the bags were in a blacked out tub. About 2 weeks ago I carefully transferred them to another tub with a water/water heater to make the humidity perfect. They are caking in spots but not everywhere. My question is; how do I know when its done if it doesn't evenly or cover all the rye berry? One bag had air in it, so I went ahead & massaged it around gently.

Your setup is unnecessary, you could've just left them on a shelf to colonize at room temp, no need to mess with the humidity. You only worry about that during the fruiting phase.
All your bags look pretty bad, just look at the amount of moisture on the inside. Also, there's a shitload of discoloration which indicates the presence of bacteria. I'd toss them and start over with a 12 pack of quart jars (they're a lot easier to work with) and a 50lb bag of whole oats at your local feed store. Oats are one of the best grains to work with and are very easy to prep, check out these teks, and read Frank's write-ups.

Side note...you don't want to shake the bags after inoculation if it's from spores...shake at around 30% colonization...

Take a big wiff off the filter patch. I bet them puppies are super sour. Had a jar yesterday with like 5 rye berries that looked dark and wet. Took one wiff and chunked it all. Its that easy to tell believe me it reeks

Yea man I think you are a little confused. Your spawn never needs to be kept in darkness, in fact ambient light has been shown to be benificial.
You do not need to worry about humidity when your spawn is still inside a jar or bag colonizing. You do want to keep temp in an acceptable range, your temps are a bit too hot Id say. '
Take those out of that contraption and put them on a shelf somewhere in room temperature!
But like stated above, those don't look quite right. Putting spores directly to grain is very high risk. Most of us start our cultures on agar plates and make transfers until they are clean, and inoculate our grain via agar wedge.

Actually, I did smell the bag & it smelled no different than before. No sour or foul odor. I think MAYBE the way my phone edited the pic it looks different. It's hard to tell in the pics but the cake that is there is a pretty white, thick, firm. They are around 30/40 % done. This is what it actually looks like.

They seemed they they were doing better once I put them in the tub to control the humidity. But what do I know, this is my first.

Too white, too solid and that creamy look usually means bacteria. Smell is a great indicator but it won't always show. re Here is an example of bacterial spawn :
If you still think they are ok, then massage the bags to break up the clumps and re distribute throughout the bag, same idea as shaking up a jar.
Definitely do not humidify spawn

Just leave them on a shelf to colonize next time, no need to complicate things.

I did take them out the tub, gently massaged, them sealed & put them in warm dry place. The bags smell earthy, no stinch. Guess I'll know soon, but hopefully I'm still in the clear!

"earthy" is not a good smell. Healthy mushroom mycelium smells sweet smelling. Furthermore, you want the RH for colonizing spawn to be about 50%.

And this after shaken at 30%.

And this is good mycelial growth no contams. An isolated strain I cleaned up from ms syringe on agar.
