Fly agaric is the worlds oldest known entheogen. I have never tried them personally, but prepped correctly, I have heard the experience can be VERY enlightening and more spiritual in nature than psilocybe mushrooms.
There are some theologians and scientists who believe the use of fly agaric in ancient siberia and orient actually spawned the idea of deity and higher power in ancient man
Here is one article of many.
Also research soma a bit. It is even referenced in christianity. It is known as the king of entheogens for a reason. It is supposedly all about the way you prep it before consumption.

I must say that for one who has not tried both, you are pretty handy at spreading hearsay invidious to psilocybin mushrooms.
Let me just say this: I've tried amanita and I've tried cubes, and cubes are better.

No, I'm not mad. What I said was said more in sorrow than in anger.

I am not trying to down play psilocybe mushrooms by any means. I love em and they are definitely my go to, besides DMT.
I am simply saying that muscaria has its place among entheogens, and if op wants to give it a shot, they should.
Some would say it's the original. Some people have seriously eye opening experiences with them, some don't. But again this is all just from my readings.
Definitely don't have anything against psilocybe mushrooms by any means
