It almost sounds like you transferred monokaryotic mycelium. Monokaryotic colonies don't colonize substrate very well, don't produce rhizomorphic mycelium or mushrooms and IME always produce a monoculture after a single transfer. Here's an example of one:

They are the first to appear on a spore plate so you don't want to make a transfer too early after germination.

With an ms syringe its not impossible but extremely unlikely.

Not likely that he would have a PE or Amazon culture from that far back. No one even knows how many generations it took pollock to even get PE stable and god only knows how many it went through after that. Amazon is the same. They are stable. At any rate working with wilds is not impossible or even that difficult. Just unpredictable. My guess is he has no idea and is just feeding you manure to shut you up.
That substrate does not look healthy. Looks stressed. That is probably the real issue. I suspect bacteria.

P values refer to culture expansion not spore lineage. F values are for spore generations. Ralphsters is no longer a sponsor here and for good reason. Use a current sponsor for spore stock.
Ganodermas are hella cool. Some species are very difficult to get spore germination and wild collected prints can be tricky to work with. I got my ganoderma lucidum culture from sporeworks and its pretty killer. Reasonably priced as well.

For sure, I shouldn't have referred to the wild prints pure culture as a p value. That's for how many transfers out u are.. Thank u for making sure there isn't bad info out there.
So, would u call ur pure culture established from a wild print your f1? And then u grow the pure culture out, and print the best looking specimens/flushes. W those prints they are your f2's?? Or is this incorrect? Would the first pins/fruits and the prints u gather from those first fruits be your f1 prints?
I'm totally unaware that raulphsters wasn't supported here. Ill have to look into why I guess. Thanks again for the help, the input, and pointing me in the right direction.

Since were on the subject of genetics. I've once recommend pikes place market for spores. The head shop in the lower level of the market.. DO NOT but there spores. (if they ever re stock them). They are taken on acidic paper, and stored in the light most the time. The spores i got must have been very old, years id guess. Their spores are about 1% viable. Complete BS in other words. Whoever sold those should be ashamed of themselves.
Like pastywhyte said, go with a current shroomery spore vendor sponsor. Good spores can be everything. Bad spores can deter a beginner for life, which is so messed up.
