Help IDing these mushrooms - Northern Europe
    #22259512 - 09/19/15 09:44 AM (8 years, 4 months ago)

Habitat:
Where does it grow? Eg. woods, pasture, state, province, country, altitude, etc. What does it grow on? Eg. soil, dung, wood (dead, living, what kind of wood?), etc.

Grew on a stump in moss. Birches and firs growing near. Northern Europe, last few days have been very windy and semi-sunny.

Gills:
Color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc.

Light brown gills

Stem:
Length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc.

4-5 cm length, 0,4-0,6 cm diameter, darker near the base, lighter near the cap, the stem seems hollow.

Cap:
Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc.

Cap sizes different, rusty orangey-brown, spherical

Spore print color:
Very important!

Light brown, rusty brown.

Bruising:
Color that the mushroom bruises, if any.

No bruising seems to be at the moment.

Other information:
Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and gills.

Scent is very mushroomy?

I suspect Big Laughing Gym, gymnopilus junonius

Hard to tell what they are from those pictures, but please don't eat them!

I don't think they are a Gymnopilus species.

I won't eat until positive ID, but I don't think this is Armillaria species.

Thanks doc, seems like it's Kuehneromyces mutabilis!
