Any of y'all ever have garage sales?
My folks rounded up a shit ton of their junk the last few days and then had a garage sale today. My pops went around the area and put up some signs. I mean shit dude, most of it was just straight up shit they haven't touched in years. And I was amazed at how many people dropped by and just bought all kinds of shit. Old shoes, clothes, dishes, toys, fucking old Nintendo 64 games...you name it.
I bullshit you not, they started this thing at like 7:15 AM in the morn, and by 2 PM they had pocketed $600 and change.
Seriously if y'all got a bunch of shit around that just sits in the attic or in the back of a fucking closet -- this is a pretty damn good real live option at getting some decent change in return. Hell this one Mexican dude even bought a fucking box of wires. For real. It was just a big ass box of old wires/cables from VCRs, TVs, and DVD players & shit. And the dude paid $15 bucks for it. I was like

They're wrapping up the sale tomorrow, so needless to say I took my ass back to my apartment to box up anything & everything that I don't use anymore

I went to a bunch this summer. I paid $50 for a bench press and the barbell and some weights. This was at a moving sale! they are the best IMO! I was considering having one myself but never got around to it. Maybe when i gather more shit, i will.

I love garage sales. I always go treasure hunting on the weekends and find some really good scores that end up netting me some decent money after resale. There are a few people in my area that go picking every week as a main means of financial income and do quite well. Enough to own a home and support themselves.
I hate doing gsales myself although it can be very easy money. People love to barter and try to get great deals and other people will be complete assholes. Flea markets are another good place to look.
It's amazing what deals you find sometimes. It's even better when someone buys them off you for a good profit.

Yeah I mean most of the shit were just little things -- people there were just throwing out numbers for the most part. Like I'll give you 2 bucks for this, and 3 bucks for that, and then my mom would just say done. That shit went on literally all day and that obviously adds up, and then they sold a few more valuable items that were around the $50 range.
What really blew me away though was the amount of people that came by. And you could tell that these people did this shit all of the time. Like they'd be walking up the drive way and before you even noticed they were there they were already tossing out price numbers for items. And this one guy in particular showed up in a truck, and the entire truck bed was damn near overflowing with what appeared to be shit from other garage sales. That guy dropped like $60 on random shit in like 10 minutes and then left.

mind was blown

Me and my brother once held a yard sale to buy some weed. It was almost entirely comprised of shit no one would ever want, but we thought we could get money for. I think we made like 2 dollars after 5 hours. Not enough pay out. Did better scamming people (yes I've done it, when I was like 13). Me and a friend got a bunch of those free news papers and went door to door giving people a sob story about some fishing trip and tried to sell them the free newspapers. God I was such a little piece of shit.
I really hate looking back on my life and who I was sometimes.

With my face against the floor I can’t see who knocked me out of the way. I don’t want to get back up but I have to so it might as well be today. Nothing appeals to me no one feels like me, I’m too busy being calm to disappear. I’m in no shape to be alone contrary to the shit that you might hear. You can't wake up, this is not a dream. You're part of a machine, you are not a human being With your face all made up, living on a screen. Low on self esteem, so you run on gasoline
