out in the deep forest today. looked mostly at dead trees and stumps. the area was wet from the rain but not soaked, under up rooted trees, inside root holes and along fallen trees were my targets. i did find some occasional shrooms standing alone poking out of the leaves (which are everywhere). i feel my best bet for active gyms etc is around dead or decomposing wood and tree stumps. i have three pictures and i cant seem to identify them. hope some one can help. couldnt find any thing on the forums pertaining to my samples. thanks guys

i live in massachusetts, south shore. 20 min south of boston in a town called rockland. i would love to met someone and get help or a guide to show me how to hunt and gather the proper happy goods. rockland is near the ocean but far enough in where i mainly look in forests and whatnot. i read gyms and cincts, are pretty much what i can find around here

It is gymnopilus season there. Keep your eyes peeled for Gymnopilus Junonius and Luteus. they tend to be Light Orange / Off-Yellow through and through with Very Rusty dark orange spores...they are also notorious for dropping massive amounts of spores and making a big mess. They enjoy growing from dead hardwoods often in clearing where they have cut trees down in the past and burried logs and twigs, and then covered with Sod, or weeds. Good Luck, and as always post your pictures with as much info as you can gather before any consumption for your safety. Welcome to the Shroomery
