Red Pellets in WBS?

I bought my usual WBS from Pets At Home, but the blend seems to have changed. It now has these odd, red pellets which dye the water when I rinse it off. What is this? Will this hurt my grow? I've already rinsed them, added gypsum and left them to soak overnight.

This is a first fire me. I bet it's fine. Run a few test jars through the pc and see if it puffs up.

I think those red pellets are suet pellets and I don't know if I would use them. Suet is typically made out of some kind of fat.

Sounds like you're right, looks exactly like what comes up when I type Suet Pellets into google.
Should I throw this batch away? The idea of beef fat in my grain sounds gross but will it actually effect the grow? I've already soaked them overnight, whatever red stuff was on the pellets started seeping into the water dying the water red and soaking the rest of the grain in this stuff. I'm not sure if this is harmful or not.
If I do have to throw the grain out and soak again, will I have to soak overnight again or is there a quicker way to do the soak part?

Suet in the PC sounds like it could turn out pretty nasty, you can always try though. I'd probably get new grain
You can easily get away with a 4-6 hour soak, just when you get the water boiling let it go for a couple extra minutes versus if you soaked longer

I just tried picking out the suet from a new batch, but inevitably there are tiny particles that can't be picked out of the grain.
I have 3 more bags of this stuff ( but I'm thinking of just feeding it to the birds. Cooking beef particles then leaving them to "colonize" sounds like a recipe for contamination.

With that said, I'm going to need different grain. Is this stuff OK?
"Composition: Wheat, Red Dari, Split Maize, Sunflower, Millet and Split Pea. "

That will work but ideally you don't really want the cracked corn in there. It will work if thats the next best of the suet stuff but prepping cracked corn can get starchy pretty quick.
US brands probably won't be the same for you but you want something with lots of milo (red) and millet (white). Something like this

I'd be curious to know if soaking the WBS in a vacuum sealer would help them hydrate faster.

I generally use cracked corn millet and just pick out the corn. I'll head out just now to buy some more.
