Scopolamine - The World's Scariest Drug

This is a really good documentary about scopolamine, one the psychoactive compounds found in datura, belladonna, etc. I've taken datura before but only enough to have mild hallucinations. Anyway, check it out. It's pretty crazy.

Theres alot of dumb teenager stories regarding those belladonas where im from.
I was one of those dumb kids...
In high school my buddy and i walked around the neighborhood picking those flowers. We filled two grocery bags and got home and boiled it into about a gallon of water. We split the gallon.
I woke up in the same chair i was when i drank it. Atleast 4 hrs had passed. When i tried to get up i just melted onto the floor, my limbs not functional. I layed there for about 15 mins slowly regaining my ability to move.
Scary shit.

I'm on my phone right now, but is this that video that claims people use scopolamine to turn people into slaves or whatever?

Not slaves exactly. More like people use it to "brainwash" people into giving them whatever they want.

This is the most overblown piece of shit video I have ever seen about scopolamine, and I immediately knew it had to be the one where I cringed as I watched it because it is by those whores over at vice. (horrible people and misinfo is only part of their sickness). They are lying sensationalist morons over at vice. That's all First of all don't get any of your information from them EVER.
An over dose on the stuff can be crazy but when you are that nuts on it you are not so suggestible as you are incapacitated. Mostly all of this documentary is pure folklore bullshit. Such as blowing it into people's faces with malicious intent. I'm not saying it has not been used by sickos who know how it's true effects work and they can certainly rape people with it. But this is not some sicko fucko drug.
I have used it responsibly and with ayahuasca. My advise, don't watch vice documentaries. Or neuro soup or anyone else who is just itching to propagate every roomer about the stuff that a meathead can soak up. It is not a pleasant trip for most people. It can blow your fucking mind in a safe environment and at a safe dose. Let's not get too confused by this "Vice". The full of shit artists. That includes that Hamilton asshole.
I highly recommend yall watch this for entertainment
- An acid head making fun of Hamilton for aprox. 45 min. and don't worry about scopolamine because most of what you hear is utter nonsense and it does only some of what they say it does, unless you are overdosing, and it is not so much fun as it is an experience to be had. Visionary at best under the best circumstances and dose. Not recommended by me. Just saying. It is a powerful visionary tool. Not to be used by western tools in most cases.
-------------------- Really though we are not living in a scientific or technological age. Today human life is dominated by a hateful and greedy form of stasis which stands in the way of a coming technological age. One where there is hope for the future for example, instead of fear.

And down there they just skip right to the making people give them whatever they want, without using crazy drugs such as this. Usually a machete. SO No.
This drug us not often used in this way. Not whatsoever. Why? because that not really even how the drug works. Here let me give you my credit card because you said so....No, that's not typically how this drug works.
It's the focus on the power of suggestion while intoxicated on these plants that bothers me. Seems everyone who talks about it doesn't understand that robbing someone with a gun is much easier to deal with than a person who doesn't really know what or where a wallet is. For example. There is more bullshit surrounding these plants than any other in this rich ethnobotanical world.

Yeah, that's total bullshit. If there was a drug that reliably produced that type of effect, the government would have weaponized it. It turns out that giving people drugs won't make people act against their wishes. See: MK Ultra.

Plants with very similar flowers are at the playground of my local zoo, where all the little kids play. I've been looking at them for a while now thinking where have I seen those flowers before... Now I remember, in that vice show about scopolamine!
Btw, I can't tell since I'm not informed about scopolamine, but the show does appear to check the facts with a whole array of different people, from local criminals to university professors. Is really all of it BS? Actors hired by vice? Or just some kind of cherry picking and simply not the whole story?

I'd go through it all again, but Doctor Who starts in like 5 minutes so right this second, I can't pick it apart. Some things to consider, though: VICE is an entertainment first outfit and makes its money by reporting the most outrageous and extreme things they can find, meaning they are highly motivated to take this long standing rumor/conspiracy theory and find as much stuff as they can that makes it appear to be true.
Next, the claim is pretty out there. A "mind-control drug", or at least one reminiscent of one. To accept that as true, you ought to demand more evidence than the fact that VICE found a couple academics (did they ever mention what the professors teach/have degrees in?) who will say that it's possible and some anecdotes from local criminals. Anecdotes are incredibly unreliable.

Solanaceae species such as datura and belladonna contain three different psychoactives: atropine, scopolamine, and hyoscyamine. I've never taken pure scopolamine; only datura leaves and seeds. It was a really screwed up experience. There's no doubt in my mind that a pure scopolamine overdose can produce the effects described in this documentary. There's a reason why scopolamine is the chosen alkaloid in these plants used to commit these crimes. Btw, this isn't 'new' news. I first heard about this around 9 or 10 years ago.

Haven't seen a lot of vice, but have seen one or two that were not particularly good, so I can imagine what you mean... I remember the one about psychedelic frogs to be a bit of a let down.

I've always had datura planned for when I must deal with a death of my immediate family. Luckily that is a long way out from now, I'll be an old man. There is brugmansia where I live in Florida, foot long flowers. I'm not sure if I should even be thinking about this. There's more than enough morning glory and Woodrose seeds, and I've chewed up small amounts, but I could me a seriously strong CWE tea if I like...

I've got a Brugmansia plant recently. I didn't know what the bush was until large yellow flowers started appearing
I'll stick to mushrooms, tough. Some drugs are really frightening.
