Can I go from petri dish directly to manure compost?

I inoculated some petri dishes with potato based agar, once they are ready can I transfer the inoculated agar directly to my manure media or do I really have to go to grain first? I would prefer to skip the grain, but wasn't sure if it would work otherwise

You really have to go to grains first.

Make master spawn with grains. Then you can inoculate lot's of manure with that.

One dish isn't enough material to transfer at a decent ratio. In theory you could go to the manure. But you would only want to go to a cup of manure. Plus the under side of the agar will be prone to contamination if it isn't colonized. You really need to wait two weeks or so until done grain jars are colonized. So go buy a pc and get busy.

I'm sure you meant made with potato agar. but you inoculate with spores, or mycelium, etc..
glad to see your first post is about agar. you're about to have a good time cultivating

I believe they used to make manure blocks like that to use as spawn but the practice pretty much stopped after superior methods using grain spawn were developed.
