The Canadian Election
    #22255240 - 09/18/15 09:14 AM (8 years, 4 months ago)

So I don't subscribe to any politics but seeing as how I can vote, I might as well vote for the lesser of the evils. I don't like Harper at all but the rest of the candidates I haven't really looked into. I think this shit is hilarious though "He's just not ready" all their commercials & stuff make me laugh my ass off all the time haha. Politicians  I have begun reading about anarchism.. seems more down my alley.

Any ways, fellow Canadian shroomery members, who will you be voting for & why?

I am a solid Conservative for a Canadian, but I understand that the country has been managed by constantly shift from left to right. Kinda like walking. Left fott, right foot, etc.

So for this election, I am willing to throw away all my personal convictions and vote NDP for the sake of the country. Harper made a big step on the right. Now the left needs to take a step too. If you constantly go on the same side, you end up walking in circles.

That must be what we are doing wrong in usa. We keep circling to the left and get only deeper in debt.

What do you mean by "circling to the left"?

Presidents from the right increase annual debt, while those from the left decrease it:

If you're not going to cut spending, then you can't cut taxes.  Republicans fail to understand that.

--------------------
I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them.  I also attack my side if I think they're wrong.  People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

Actually no president has Cut the debt since the 50's, since then, it has continued to grow...

Obumble doubled the national debt already and still has time to run it up even more. Is he an example of a president from the right? Last I checked he was a dem, a lib and an idiot. He increased debt more than all previous presidents put together, have you forgotten so soon?

>If you're not going to cut spending, then you can't cut taxes.  Dems fail to understand that.

What a clumsy analogy.

More like Harper took a huge step backwards and now the left needs to take an equally huge step just to be back where they started when Harper was elected.

I can assure you that Canada is far better off than it was before Harper and he will go down as one of the best PMs our country has ever had.

What, no lol. Seems to me like he was one of the worst Prime minister, I'm sure there was worst but he's down there. Once this generation dies I hope for the sake of humanity we never see his like again.

I would say that if you're the leader of a democratic nation, and 62% of the people disapprove of you, and only 32% approve, you're bad.

Take out the 50% of idiots from the poll and suddenly you're a 32 vs 12.

How convenient for your argument that, not only do half the nation's opinions don't count, but it's the 50% you disagree with.

Harper as I've never met a socialist who wasn't keen to spend other people's money just as quick as they can.

The Liberals are dominating Atlantic Canada.  Can you imagine Justin sitting across a table from Putin or Xi Jinping?  What an embarrassment.

Except first you have to factor out the meat heads, those dead from the neck up, and then you lose the 62%.

Canadians will learn just like they did with PET. Hope you enjoy working for the govt because there'll be bugger all left in your cash pocket at the end of the day.
