Slow/Weak Mycelium Growth(Top of Jars)

Almost three weeks in now, beautiful growth - the bottom half of the cakes are almost finished but in a few of the 12 jars I inoculated, near the top of the jars the mycelium appears to still be a little weak(semi-translucent in areas). Should I give them another week and see what happens before worrying?

It's the same jar but I just wanted to show yall what's going on. Hopefully you can notice the weak growth on top(It's not all the jars, just a few)

It's fine, don't worry about it. Let that consolidate for 7 days if it's 100%.
Next time use wide mouth 1/2 pint jars, the short ones. They perform much better.

I see what you're talking about, but to me it doesn't really look like 'weak' growth. Hard to tell. It looks more like the mycelium is reaching the edge of your vermiculite barrier, which it's not going to colonize.
When did the jars finish colonizing? You always want to give BRF cakes a weeks worth of consolidation before birthing.

They have been colonizing for about three weeks now. The bottoms are just about finished being covered.

Let them finish colonizing the rest of the bottom. Once the bottom is colonized, consolidate for 7 days, then birth.

I agree with everyone on this post. What you're probably seeing is the mycelium getting into the verm and that's totally normal.
Don't start to worry until the jar either: 1. Turns colors like green, black, brown, or gray. 2. Smells bad like feet, dirt, or satan's scrotum cheese. 3. Get super wet or slimy completely out of the blue for no reason. 4. Stalls.
