mental disorders and LSD
    #2224206 - 01/06/04 08:10 PM (20 years, 1 month ago)

heres the deal, i have expierenced acid about 4 times. each time i have only taken one hit, or less (im about 140 lbs) and have always had a great time. i have expierenced shrooms quite a few more times and have enjoyed every tripp.

what i am wondering is this: i had a great grandmother (i think) who had schitsophrenia. if i had some lingering mental illness would it have allready been brought out by the previous trips or is this somthing that can happen or not happen every time i trip?

im really not that worried about it, but better safe than sorry.

tipping has helped me come to certain realisations and understandings that have changed my life for the better, and it is somthing that i do not want to give up.

"in times of widespread chaos and confusion, it has been the duty of more advanced human beings - artists, scientists, clowns, and philosophers - to create order. In such times as ours however, when there is too much order, too much m management, too much programming and control, it becomes the duty of superior men and women and women to fling their favorite monkey wrenches into the machinery. To relieve the repression of the human spirit, they must sow doubt and disruption"

I think it's more of a higher chance for it to onset early. Like one crazy fucked up trip might trigger it. Just try to be in a good mood, environment, and mindset.

I don't think anyone really knows about this for sure. No one really knows why it comes out let alone when it might come out, I'm not even sure if they can detect if your likely to have it.

i think being more intelligent and intuitive increses your chances of developing schitzophrenia-like symptoms earlier than you would if you were unfamilliar with mental excersize.

even so, the most important thing you need is your ability to communicate rationally and be able to organize your thoughts and behaviors. halucinating voices and sensations aren't nearly as seroius as the debilitating effects of perceptory malfunction and emotional disorganization.

having a few LSD trip influenced delusions is in my oppinion a healthy step towards individualism.

but im not a doctor,

Another thing to keep in mind is age... if you're older than 25 you probably don't have to worry at all. Around 25 is about when latent metal illness tends to manifest. I actually know two folks that snapped when they were 25... its kind of creepy for me since I'm turning 25 in a few months!

By "I", I of course mean a good friend of mine who happens to live in the fine city of Amsterdam. "I" is just so less awkward.
