Outdoor Horse Dung compost brf cakes used as spawn

Okay so I have an outdoor patch that I made using compost that has been just a pile of horse shit I got from my grandparents stable. I mixed in 2 spent BRF pf tek cakes and some contaminated colonizing cakes but still had mycelium mixed with the contams inside the jars.
I can see some colonization on top but I'm worried about the fungus gnats. I read that they can eat the mycelium network and prevent fruiting. Should I keep watering it when it gets close to dry at top and just give it more time and be patient or will these fungus gnats prevent any fruiting what so ever, or just slow down the process?
Has anyone had trouble with mostly manure compost with spent/contamed cakes used to mix in?
I have mixed some in some flower pots in just soil and they fruited so I'm a little discouraged but still eager to get this one going due to a new source of nutrients.
Any suggestions?

Bump!, would adding more spawn to it be beneficial? Watering and then adding a dry layer of verm on top? Any ideas?

I grew outdoors a lot and never had a problem with fungus gnats, so I just did a little research on them. It looks like everything you can do to chase them away involves pesticides or other substances that will damage or kill the mycelium. I think if you add more spawn, then you're just giving them more food.

I've had some discard piles get raided by monster ass bugs. They ate holes through the caps and stems, everything was still cool to dry and eat. And I'm talking an infestation of militarized insects.

When I made it I also used the base of mushrooms mycelium and buried it as well as butts and center stripes from fruited mushrooms wrapped in soaked cardboard sandwich with the spawn.
Also have squirted left over spores from a syringe.

If you live in a farm area you probably have hella flies. My experience is the colonized area will still fruit but it will attract a lot of bugs.
I'm way more worried about the contamination on the cakes.

Couldn't be any worse than the horse shit it's mixed with.
