You guys do realize that the higher up in elevation you go in the fall the earlier the season starts. I think most mushroom fruiting is triggered by a dip in temperatures but moisture is also a major factor. If you went up on Mount Hood or Mount Rainier it would be nearly winter like conditions at a certain point.

Anybody here know how long it takes for a cyan to go from pin to maturity? How about liberty caps?

P. cyanescens take a week or two to fully mature. I've never seen a liberty cap in person.

Where are you guys at? I'm out in tumwater finishing up this little fall harvest book with my wife and we are going to be foraging for a ton of stuff! This is really my very first season for being a serious forager and mushroom hunter. We've already enjoyed a bounty of pinks and some puffballs about a week ago.
other than that I'm doing a lot of mushroom watching and research. it's so fun

I've been enjoying mushrooms since April when I found the first Squamosus... Not a lot of psychedelics around here, but other mushrooms are fun to find too you know. Chantrelles come in June in the midwest, so weird that you have to wait til september..
