Hardwood sawdust as substrate???
    #22249553 - 09/17/15 04:57 AM (8 years, 4 months ago)

I found this bag of hardwood sawdust sold as "animal bedding" in a local Agway.  It expressly says it contains no pine and no cedar.  Can I use this for wood-loving edibles such as Black Poplar?  I've used bran supplemented hardwood pellets sold as fuel in the past to make my blocks with reasonable results for my Black Poplar grows, but this product looked enticing and "ready made."

Thanks in advance for any helpful advice.

I use wood pellets for lions mane with really good results. 40 lb for $5.

Hopefully blues like hardwoods too. That's next for me.
