Wow. I genuinely hadn't considered the gendered quality of modern education. I hear a lot of people complaining about it becoming touchy-feely, and while I wasn't a fan of that, it hadn't occurred to me that the kind of teaching we've been transitioning to was excluding boys from learning. I'll have to keep this in mind if I find myself in the position of choosing a school in the future.

As far as schools eliminating recess, that's bullshit for a huge variety of reasons. Kids need that time for exercise, socialization, relaxation, memory consolidation, etc. Who in their right minds thinks getting rid of it will help our myriad of troubles?

And for good measure.

All in good fun.
But really, believes there is a war on men is a fucking idiot, and probably watches Fox News
I'm sorry but it's the truth. I think I lost brain cells watching that video, granted I was homeschooled.

the ultra neo-feminist movement sure does make it feel like there's a war on boys.

I'm all for equal treatment but it doesn't seem to be the goal for many* of the women in those groups.

Dude, we have be oppressed for years, since the dawn of agriculture and civilization and the switch away from hunting and gathering, practically to the point if slavery for thousands of year.

And now when for the first time in human civilization we are starting to gain some rights back and even the playing field you guys start shouting that there is a war on men?

No.
Fuck no.

As a feminist...I completely fucking agree.

I do appreciate that you use the term 'many' as opposed to 'most.' I'm seeing more and more posts that point out how hypocritical it is to put men down in the interest of women's rights. I just listened to that whole interview with the psychologist and she ended with a very good point: you don't have to be anti-women to be pro-men. More people need to realize this; it isn't necessary to put down one social group in support of another. Just be pro-human.

If everyone could just stop being a bunch of shits, that would be greeaaaaat.

things have been mostly equal for a long time.  yet women hold onto shit from years ago.
it's a lot like the racism deal now that I think about it.

yes it still exists, but a lot of groups bring it upon themselves by attaching themselves to the idea of it.

But men are still winning far more awards like the nobel prize and pulitzer prize.
Wouldn't this more boy friendly situaution upset the balance even further? If the current system was so flawed why would we be seeing men dominate academia and research?
